I don't often look at video tutorials, partly because, for programming, I find them slow and less effective than an article, partly because as a French, while I read fluently, I have some difficulty to understand spoken English with some accents. I must say that your tutorial in video form make sense (as it is a graphical program) and your English is totally clear for me. :-D Thank you, I will surely look at your other tutorials.

Ha the clipping is handy. I did not notice I could use that and I have been using version 3 for a while now. I tended to copy the original layer, make it completely black, turn down opacity and start removing stuff to create shadow on a character. But with clipping that will quicken that process.

Are there any plans to make the "Copy to new layer" function work with multiple layers selected? Many of the features in the video are things I have wanted in the version of Photoshop that I use. Krita is pretty neat.
@Gdquest8 жыл бұрын
You can actually already do that, it's just that it doesn't work as in Photoshop. In Krita, you can do many operations on groups that you can't in PS (I.e. apply a transform, and Krita will transform all of the grouped layers individually). In the same fashion, you can copy a selection to a new layer when you have a group selected - Krita will use the content of that group to make a copy.

So the manipulation is Ctrl G - Ctrl Shift G. Krita tends to encourage you to properly group layers as you go by the way, that's why they chose that design, I think.

Okay. I guess my main use for this would be to export a collection of layers as a single layer, which is a complicated process in PS CS6, where you need to go in and hide/unhide layers and use the "copy merged" function. I haven't actually tested Krita yet, but your videos make me want to switch from PS to Krita. As a user of the Reaper DAW, I love the similarities between Krita and Reaper - such as being able to script custom functions, which should arrive soon to Krita.

GDquest are these steps the same in Ubuntu Linux?

The functions should work the same on Linux, yes.

There won't be any other french tutorials, simply because I don't have the resources to do that.

+GDquest Could you possibly do French captions?
@Gdquest8 жыл бұрын
Captions are not an option either - I'm struggling to produce all of the videos already - can't add that workload on top of it. However the community can translate the videos directly on youtube - it would just take a handful of motivated people to do that.
