Diverse products: Not only eggs, but also hens can be sold after they no longer reproduce. Stable market: Chicken eggs are a product consumed daily and are not much affected by market fluctuations. Broiler: Quick profits: Broilers grow faster and can be sold after a shorter period of time than layers. Lower initial investment costs: No need to raise hens to breed, reducing initial investment costs. Large consumer market: Broiler chicken is a popular food product and has a large consumer market. That is my opinion. Everyone should choose the type of chicken that is suitable for the climate and economic conditions. Wishing you success

Also eggs can be collected and stored without much expense vs broilers which must be continuously fed after reaching target weight if there is no market to sell them at right at 6 weeks. If slaughtered without buyers the meat can go to waste

Even here in South Africa most broilers go to the market at 4 weeks old for barbecue market

On profitability,I think still broilers win because when we look at time factor,by the time the layers start laying eggs,how many rounds would you have done broilers? assuming 20 week/5 weeks of broilers that 4 rounds..

As long as you have the ready market , then its good but should you fail to get market , you will be forced to put your hands down

This was exactly what I went through,,,it gives me a heart break to abandon my layers project after around 30 weeks ,,,I had to sell off my chicken without getting my money back,,,but am not giving up,,, thanks for the information 🙏

Why did you have to sell after 3.0 weeks when it is expected for them to start taking care of their feeding at that stage?
