Laying New Plywood & Altro Safety Flooring In My VW T4 Campervan Conversion

Continuing with the VW T4 Transporter Campervan Conversion, I replace all of the previously laid flooring with new 18mm plywood flooring and new Altro safety flooring laid on top (See links below for flooring). The new plywood flooring is insulated under the plywood with bubble foil and then new Altro safety flooring is laid and glued down to the newly cut and installed plywood floor, transforming the internal look of this VW T4 campervan.

I'm wondering if you are going to go with the norm for a Volkswagen T3,4,5,6,?, and have a rock and roll bed. In this case I think you should go for a slide out. Much more easy access to things like batteries and clean/grey water tanks. Can't wait to see what you do with it. I did see one build with double sliding doors and they made a garage with the drivers side slider. Was really good. He had a connect and was called Milo Meloy. Please look him up to see some of his great ideas for the smaller camper. Cheers. Lovin the build so far.

What is safety flooring, safe for what and why don't you put extra screws in instead of all that expense? I put carpet on mine which cost £10 and took 10 minutes to fit and after 8 years and 200 nights later is fine and lovely and warm. Changing it is easy too

Safety flooring is the kind of flooring you get in offices, extremely hard wearing, extremely hard to puncture and grippy under foot. Carpet can be fine for some people, not myself.

@@TheCampervanBuilder Just how much traffic is this flooring going to take..and stop wearing stilettos if you are worried about piercing the floor. I have a cheap carpet in our van and an energetic dog at 8 years on it is fine. I assume you are in the UK where it is cold and that floor sounds uncomfortable. But your choice.
