Nick is an amazing teacher for an aged newbie like me. He goes slow, breaks the riff into manageable chunks, and explains the moves. He is the best teacher I have seen on youtube so far! It was a bit strange seeing him play left-handed, but I got over it after repeating the video a few times. I have a hidden advantage for a newbie: I am naturally left-handed but I play right-handed so my flexible dexterous left hand can fret better than expected!

Always played with different fingering Your explanation of the fingering seems to work really well .Thanks and the way you explain then play the riff slow then normal speed is the way to go !

Thank you! This song has been languishing on my "I hope I get good enough to play that one day" list for years. I recently started to feel confident enough to try, and you just showed me it's actually a lot less complicated than it sounds. This is going to be fun!

BTW, the reason the radio stations played records faster was to get more hits per hour: "It's another music power hour!" They sped up the turntable by 6% which is one semi-tone, the twelfth root of two. In other words, up to the sharp of the natural.

Great teaching style. Breaking it into manageable parts. Slowing it down. He seems almost like he’s being patient with my crummy playing. Some tabs would help for those who don’t know all the stings and notes.

Hey Nick - once again great stuff! The tone is nearly dead nuts too - what is your signal path for each part? You have a great ability to make this stuff simple and fun for us hacks - keep it up!

Thanks Michael! I just revealed the axes, pickups and amp above. I used the Katana's Crunch Amp Type setting for the rhythm and the Lead setting for the, er, lead! Both had a little of the amp's Hall reverb added and the gain setting or both wasn't that high either. Not pedals - just plug and play. Hope this helps!

I once had a “One Finger Affair”, but it ended after a unfortunate series of “Pick, Hammer, Pull”. ..and a pinky.

Thanks Vincenzo - glad you liked it. Just the guitars you see (Duncan JB in the bridge of the Strat; stock p/us in the Epiphone 60s Les Paul) and a 100W 1x12 Boss Katana combo with a smidgen of the amp's Hall reverb. No pedals... just plugged straight in.

The "Vari-Speed" pitch (wotevva) on the recording we all know and love, must have (as it has for me until just now), caused lots of puzzled looks and consternation over the years. Even for those lads on the original recording when they heard it... whenever? Thanks mate. (Why am I still laughing? - rhetorical question!)
