i believe that the car manufacturer have a binning for all their engine blocks, all the block hardness are measured, cylinder wall thickness (front side/ rear side, thrust side) are sonic detected when come out from the mold, which later bin them accordingly, good ones go to "performance" model which handle more boost, not-so-good ones goes to regular version

From my understanding of car manufacturing, it's unlikely the case as it would be too time consuming and will be very costly for carmakers to do this

actually they just need do this on early batch of production to know which production line have better consistency and tolerances and further pick from that particular production line to do manual QC for "performance" lineups

Do change your Transmission fluid more frequently e.g 30k intervals as the transmission is prone to higher stress after tuning. Other than that it shld be ok so Long as your GB is torque rated above 535nm.

ng yc they have diff fuel rating, they use MON instead, go read up online for more info. Essentially their RON91 is like our RON95 and their RON93 is like our RON98.

Your N55 is also a very good tuning platform as well. Slap a tune I bet you will love it. An N54 stock can take up to 40% e85 no issue, upgrade LPFP can go full e85. Not sure about N55 but reckon it can take 20% no issue. Cheers!

Saw one of your comment claiming that stage 1 passat 2.0 can hit 300hp, is that mean it can easily outrun an evo 9 and subaru impreza v9 which has only 280hp, manual transmission and running on 4 wheels? With passat higher hp, dsg and 2 wheels drive, i think it can easily smoke them both, are you able to make a video for that race? Can't wait to see.

Should be fine, manufacturers typically down tuned the engine output, so they can use the same engine back on another model or newer model with more hp and torque

Mike claimed other tuners this and that. With current competitive market of tuner, I doubt other reputable tuner is any slouch of this tune. At the end of the day, I think is trust of owner and tuner.

Well that's because i had a chat with him about my previous tune. That guy tuned my engine to blow all the power out immediately and tapers off afterwards, and didnt tune my transmission. Hence we had the conversation about bad tuners, which is the truth. And left me with a bad impression on tuning. Of course he isnt talking about the established, well known tuners. We're talking about plenty of custom tuners.

Generally will be slightly more economical but when you drive fast it will be a fair amount more.

If u want the best fuel consumption, drive on the highway as much as possible because ALL. Cars FC suck in stop start traffic. I get 4-5km/L in crawling traffic and 8-9km/L on highway for my 3L Volvo.

jimmylim85 engine life span depend on how well you maintain your car, i know a guy who has a 350hp honda and he services his car every 10,000km pretty excessive but he has had his car 5 years and no problem. Note he turbo his car so more strain on an NA car. But a good tuner is also needed to make sure that the engine is more efficient and like bobby said his tuner will not push more than what the engine can handle.

Kelvin Chan his car is way past the new car warranty period haha, 2009 model. Some Authorised service centres e.g Wearnes Singapore offer 1yr warranty for work done by them. So do consider that ya.

Both same drivetrain. Except the A6 changed to 8 speed torque converter after the facelift, which means even more reliable than the S4. Interior wise, there's no fight, the S4's interior quality though good, is not comparable to the A6. And the A6 3.0 TFSI is roomier too. I'd go for the A6 if i were you.

Hi no damage to the engine what so ever, it's tuned to a very safe levels where all safe parameters of the engine are maintain without over driving your hardware. So be rest assured.

jui Jgen Tan not advisable for cars under warranty period as the extra boost generated after tuning can be detected and logged by your ecu which even after u flash back to stock can still be detected by your 4S service centre. As they say, tune dun scared, so if u are willing to forgo the warranty, go ahead and enjoy the extra boost haha.

I'm sure the 630i can be tuned. ( You're talking about the current 6 series right? The 6GT? Not the old 630i naturally aspirated engine?) As for the XC60, i think the only safe tune is to go for Polestar's tune, but the gains are very minimal. Because this engine is already highly strung

The S4's 3.0 TFSI and 7 speed wet clutch transmission is the most reliable amongst the B8 generation A4 lineup. I changed my clutch when it was 80k mileage, problem free since day one i bought it. Just wear and tear and regular maintenance.

I heard from a friend DNA Tuning are pretty expensive not worth the tuning as compared to Revo, APR, Project A and a lot of other tuners. Plus, pretty much their branding is stolen from a reputable branding company. I think I'll resort to more reputable tuners as fellow VW group owners :) I like MTM.

you heard from a friend .... well it starts from RM2k ish to get a Passat 2.0T from 220hp to 300hp .... and i love how their tuning gives priority to smooth driving ..... even when i rev the car full bore, it's a very linear build up. My previous (failed) tune explodes all power up front and even made my gearbox hesitate towards the redline ....this DNA Tuning feels great so far ...

Project Dark Asia I use DNA tuning, and the price is below Revo even with Revo’s highest discount (Black Friday etc). That said if I didn’t know about DNA tuning, I’d probably go with Revo. Revo is a good and reliable tune, they have a solid reputation and you won't go wrong with Revo. But since I felt DNA was a good deal, I went ahead with DNA. There are many brands, generally you won’t go wrong with the reputable brands as long as you’re assured about after-sales support from your preferred dealer (Revo, APR, Unitronic, MTM etc are all from principal and sold by dealers here too right?) and budget. I’ve had DNA about 9 months, and haven’t had any need for any after sales yet, daily driving with long trips and also pushing it.

Normally for civic 1.5 stage1 should be around 205hp to 220hp. Add a works cvt cooler and it should be fine

Thats what i thought so, only numbers on dyno can tell how much it does increase to defeat the placebo effect. Because ones is already excited about it and easily can overjoyed until forgetting the rest.. Previous one is crazy, explosive up front and reaches redline too fast in 1st and 2nd gear and the gb doeant know what to do thus it waits about 1 second before shifting, and when it shifts the whole car jerks. So in the end my car is slower than it used to be. And the "power" was only dumped in front of the rev band. Basically it was a lousy experience thus after that i removed it and never advise people to tune their cars. Until now. Lol. My S4 feels so lovely now, feels like the 2.9 turbo in the new panamera lol ....

The greatest fuel saving device is our right foot. No amount of tuning or any device can influence fuel consumption more than our right foot. I always joke that placing our wallet behind the pedal is the best way to save fuel.

Change all consumables. 1. Shocks 2. Brake disc and pads 3. End links and control arms 4. Spark plugs and ignition coils 4. All drivetrain fluids e.g engine, transmission, diff 5. Leather if torn 6. Simple paint correction All in easily RM30k for a performance car but it will make your old ride, can be 10years old, much more enjoyable, just like new haha.
