About that gunplay... how come we're futuristic, alien Ironman yet we're stuck using 20th century era firearms? Where's the arc laser weapons, the mini-blackhole projectiles that implode enemies, the gun that sprays targets with nanites that eat away armor? There's zero though put into the firearms.

This was one of my biggest complaints. Nearly all weapons feel the exact same and just shoot the same basic projectiles. I know everyone says the game is focused around abilities, but that doesn't mean you can't also have good weapons. The abilities were ok in the demo, but I just spammed them over and over again and only having 2 wasn't that great to me. I'll wait 6-12 months and see if the game is worth it then.

lol..warframe is ability based too but damn the weapon have interesting mechanic.. chain ark gun,railgun,bfg type of weapon,gas cloud, flamethrower,grenade launcher,sniper,bow,kluster bomb handgun to a fucking generic smg and shotgun.. so the argument that the weapon suck is bcoz it supposed to focus on javelin abilities is fukin stoopid.. warframe have like almost 30 different frame with different abilities.. the developer is just lazy and good at finding excuse..

Everyone. I haven't enjoyed a game published by Electronic Arts in 6-7 years. The last one was ME3, though the ending was indeed disappointing. Inquisition was MEH, SimCity 2013 was awful, Sims 4 is mediocre, both SW Battlefront were super basic and boring, Need For Speed games are super boring and full of microtransactions, and I don't care about their sport and shooter games. I'll never understand how a studio that keeps releasing bad games makes so much money.

You can buy the Mass Effect trilogy; they aren't soulless (though ME1 is pretty archaic now, ME2 has annoying forced story progress segments, and ME3's War Assets values are cut in half due to the empty multiplayer). Not perfect, but still fun - especially if you mod them on PC (MERecalibrated series is good, and doubling the War Assets' values negates the multiplayer shackles).

They probably thought: "since this NPC sells shit, he has to try to convince you to buy it, how? telling you all the crap he can think of, that gives him some personality". I would be amazed if some suit said: "guys, mmm, since we want to sell crap in the shop, why not making an NPC that convinces players to buy things from our shop with real money?...." That's too much for them.

The thing that pisses me off more than anything about story is they have been adding so much new excellent lore and growth to The Old Republic, which I'm frankly surprised still exists, and even released a new story expansion at the end of 2018 called Jedi Under Seige. It was great, brings a whole new level of choice and depth to your characters massive legacy. How is it that a dying MMO is getting quality Bioware content from an insanely small support team, but Anthem is lacking in nearly every regard and is being done by the vast majority of Bioware's resources?

Oh, please, at least magic shows are entertaining. The dedication, skill and flair in them can be quite amusing and entertaining. Trying to 'break the code' and see past the illusion is also fun, in a different way. At the very least, magic shows are HONEST; you KNOW it's smoke and mirrors, the entire shtick is getting you to not see the smoke or mirrors. Anthem is something trying to be a magic show with flair and flashes but falls flat on its attempt to get out SOME entertainment.

@SuperSimba6 KOTOR 2 suffered from a chronic case of Lucas Arts. They rushed the game and a lot of it was unfinished. Using the restoration mod (which restores a LOT of content, though not all) the characters are a lot better. Darth Sion actually is one of the best villains ever after addition of deleted parts, especially if you play a female exile (which is the canon option), he has such a Metal Gear vibe...

Also why is nobody picking up on all the assets flips from ME Andromeda? The Ui elements have been changed slightly. reskinned and modded the characters jump pack to look like flying and removed a cover system. I wonder when people will realise this is the cancelled ME Andromeda DLC ME fans never got. Do you really believe this game is a 6 year long passion project? You trust EA not to lie about that? Even the UI "F" to pick items or activate stuff is ripped straight from mass effect. The kill hit marker is straight from Andromeda. You could literally take the core of this game and put it in Andromeda as a DLC and you would not know the difference. New enemy type and maybe a new companion who pheobi discovers new tech that allows the pathfinder to modify their jump packs to fly. The sound effects for abilitys sound like tehy are also ripped straight out of Andromeda. 6 years development though apparently. Stop lying EA, I'm calling you out on that bullshit.

@@Vezri The engine was done, but they wanted to make an open world when Frostbite is good for FPS, so they needed to expand the engine to an open world with loot, inventory.... The developers are not at fault, EA is, because they don't let them use or make the engine that best suits the game that the developers want to bring to life. Its completly absurd in my opinion, I would never use frostbite if I had to develop something like Divinty Original Sin I or II. But the suits say A, and the poor developers have to obey, no matter how retarded it would be. Also, creating a new engine for this game would mean that they could expand it afterwars, Anthem II, Anthem III, so make a good custom engine for the type of game you want to make and then make 3 games from it. Easier that using and engine that doesn't fit and brings headaches all the time because of its limits... A shame in my humble opinion.

Another problem is that these live service can't reach the staggering amount of content that games like Warframe have without any time invested in them. Warframe has been out since 2013 and it's been supported by its developers for all these years. I can't see Anthem being supported for ONE year, because EA will shut it down the second it goes bad with no room for getting back on its feet. Then EA will consider it dead and move on like the short-sighted greedy idiots they are.

Don't forget that they need to re-create the actual combat mechanics because theirs are so poorly done it's like looking at a 15 year old game. Watching people do melee attacks is just atrocious. You're stun-locking the enemy and it takes like 20 seconds to kill a normal mob in such a manner.
