Life vest! Yes! Opening morning we had a guy about 70yrds from us tip in 3ft waves in a canoe without a life vest, we made it to him just as his face was above to go below water! He had his life vest strapped to his canoe instead of himself... he was luck cuz he was drifting out fast

Glad you addressed the life vest! I swamped a canoe last year in 30 feet of water, wearing my vest saved my life - my chest waders filled with water and made it nearly impossible to swim - WEAR you vest! I have a Beavertail boat and considering a mud motor, this video convinced me to get one! Thanks for the video

Hey Outdoor Limits, I used to have a Final Attack and I had the same issue with the wheels. I actually popped them out ( takes a bit of work but they just pop out the bottom). You can actually just set the boat on the wheels where they are suppose to pop into. I would wheel the boat the the shoreline of the boat ramp and then leave the wheels in the truck. Never after that did I have a issue with hanging up on them. Worked just as good wheeling it around and you could not tell the wheels where even popped out of place.

One of the first lessons I learned 40 something years ago is snow covered decoys are not conducive to a good hunt. They will flare leery puddelers every time without fail. U r better off throwing out Can and Bluebill decoys. They will bring in puddle Ducks. Maybe throw a 3 or 4 mallards out

Amen. Wear your PFD guys. Even if just in a kayak. We lost a duck hunter in my area this fall who presumable fell out of his kayak. Found his dog , waders, and PFD the day he went missing but it took nearly a month of searching to find him.

To be honest Josh me and my partner have only hunted twice over snowy decoys. We left the decoys covered in snow. Everything is covered in snow including us. We couldn’t see the end of the pond we couldn’t see 15 yards upwards of the air. We had a seven pack of Ross come directly over our heads so low we could have thrown our guns at them. We dropped two of them. They came out of nowhere. This was in Oklahoma about a month and a half ago when we got our first snow of the year. This was our first band ever. The band was out of Inqaluit Nunavant Canada. He hatched in 2014 or earlier banded In 2015 estimated to be six years old. I’ll send you pictures on Instagram this is one of the best days of our lives hunting.

I would dust the decoys off. It certainly can’t hurt and will most likely help. We dint have to deal with that here in Alabama, but on cold mornings our decoys will have that heavy frost on them and we get that off. We need all the help we can get here!

Been there done that... I've had best results with clean decoys. But, like others have mentioned, it depends on the birds. I hunt a refuge and the local birds get educated real quick but, the migrators don't seem to care. Can't wait to see what's next.

When snow is on my dekes I periodically give them a dip... quicker to use a stick or paddle to get the dekes under water and melt the snow, keeps the gloves dry too not wiping the snow away.

I hunt late goose in Minnesota and I deal with snow a lot, from what I have seen some snow on the decoys is okay, but once it piles up more give them a sweep. It’s natural for them to have a little snow on the back. But I have had groups come in when there is a lot of snow on the decoys as well. Hope that helps!

First off, great videos! I've learned a lot from you. I do have a question regarding your boat. I have had a bass boat for 8 years, 1st one was used and 2nd was new. The question I have for you is have you thought about what would you do if you can't get the motor to start? Do you have a small paddle somewhere in there? Also, do you at least have an extra spark plug and a couple basic tools on there? I know with a boat that small not a lot of room, but something to think about. The nice thing for me is I have room and plus a trolling motor. You probably already thought of this but just wondering, be good info for people new to "boating". Keep up the great job!

First of all..I mean yall can hold your own opinions? But late in the year like that it's hard to get away with an object sticking out with no breakup that close to decoys..for one..and two? I dunno what time you quit but mallards tend to work later in the morning/daytime when it's like that. In my opinion you would have been better off hunkered down next to some real brush and hiding the boat out of overhead view, keeping the snow off the decoys is a pain but it helps knocking it off, a jerk string would have helped here with mojos, and your calling sounds really really good but again late? Hit them just a tad bit hard at the wrong time and they're gone.
