Good to see you did the planning ahead of time for lighting, it's the little details that make big difference in the end. Looking forward to more update videos.

Thanks man! The problem is some of the areas are so tight I won't be able to fish wires, so I need to have it roughed in the beat I can. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the tour. I appreciate you letting me keep my shoes on, don’t want to step on a drywall screw. A drink would have been nice, it’s pretty darn hot outside. :) Basement looks great. So nice you can custom build everything. I’m coming over next summer to run trains.

Good to be thinking ahead with the lighting and other electrical systems. My lighting is the worst part of my layout room. with hot spots and dark areas. At least I put it all into a drop ceiling and can get at it when I'm ready to. Cheers Ben, David.
@CreativeRails

So true David! Looking back I really should have considered a drop ceiling. Dont know why I didn't. Think I was just worried about keeping the ceiling as high as I could. Thanks for watching!

Ben I’m just curious is there anything you would like for me to build for you either a locomotive or rolling stock and and I am going to do it for you because I saw on Instagram of you building your layout and I thought to myself I wonder if I could help you out with some scratch building and have an awesome day Ben

USA Building Codes Prohibits the use of steel studs in a house or commercial area as the Fire Fighters will just let it burn because they fear Total Collapse of building/residential structure! I have talked with several fire departments about this and they completely Frown upon it and says its a no go for building construction! since your in Canada what does your building code say about this and fire departments also say about it?
@CreativeRails
@CreativeRails 5 жыл бұрын
I've actually never heard of this. But I think we are talking about two different things. In a basement application the steel studs are just partitions, they are not structural. Same for the bulk heads. Structural steel is a total different ball game. When it comes to commercial the fire codes are very strict. But when framing structurally you need a stronger guage steel with a much higher fire rating. I do know that the Canadian Building Code is based off of the International Building code. I do know that the American and Canadian Building codes are very similar. But you are correct, contrary to popular belief, wood in many applications has a higher fire rating. Or 'burn time until structural failure'. Hope this answers your question.
