Your comment on there being more operational videos was spot on. Watching your videos has inspired me, as I work on designing my layout, to be much more open to including more operational possibilities. I always considered myself a 'railfan' when designing my railroad but your video's have shown me the very positive possibilities of including operation instead of just running trains in circles. So, I'm not surprised at all when you mention that there are a lot more operational railroads showing up on KZbin. Hope your felling better and Thanks!

Hey Rick, you could add an Inglenook switching puzzle to your end of track in Orange County. It would only cost an extra righthand turnout. One or two of the three legs could enter the building.

I fear you have the Whooping Cough, or else you're doing a great imitation of Doc Holliday. Thanks for the update, Rick.

I began my new layout as just a place to run my Ghan (pulled by a pair of Australian National GM's). But watching your videos inspired me to add a couple of line side industries and an interchange for operations. I'm liking it. Thanks.

On the siding just past the switch to the near side tracks, add a left hand switch and make a spur alongside the siding to serve the building you have sitting there

I like the way you disguise your buildings to look just like cardboard boxes! 🤪😜😂🤣

Here in West Central Georgia the high temperature has been hitting 80 degrees. Hopefully it will be getting colder soon.

Thanks for the video! Maybe where you were unsatisfied with the end of your layout, curving the track that the tank car was on, or even just make it not parallel with the other track might make it a bit more interesting. Looking forward to the coming updates!

One thing you could do is make your industry tracks more care worn. make the ballast much older/dirty looking at the moment it looks too new!

Layout is progressing. Those big GE units sound good. Man, I wish it would get down to the 50s here in northern FL. At least at night, been unusually warm here for October and November.

I like your layout overall but in my opinion you kinda repeated your same layouts onto the Orange section. Maybe create an all face-pointing style industries, or maybe a separate spurs that cross over in a diamond, or a spur that travels through a building to get to an operating industry? And yes, more vids being made about switching Live and model railroading is always a bonus to get when Fall arrives lol Keep up the great modeling!

Good video, hope you are feeling better. Here in Colorado it's a snowy day with more than 15 inches of snow.

Maybe you don't have any passenger cars, I was thinking maybe a small passenger station in that bare area, to allow a pesky tourist train to hold up the freight trains occasionally. Raise your stress level & warm you up for Winter. :)

Wow your comment about changing Orange a bit drew quite a few comments. Wonder if any of them read my moribund suggestion. haha. moving the one track over, or putting it within the fence line with a gate. Or even inside a building might change it up. good luck, Re: your track across the moveable section. I've wanted to tell you a solution to prevent derailments at the gap that is simple and works; but it's really hard to describe so I've held off. Also, so you didn't seem to have many problems. But here goes. take a file and camphor the ends of the rail head on both sides. This should be done to make a gentle V ,facing inward on both sides. The idea is the flange has nothing to pick as it goes across the gap, and the gentle camphor will guide the flange if needed as the wheel crosses. llke so. \/ but much more gentle. This would make much more sense with a photo. But no way to share on here. If you really want one, drop me a random note on one of my vid and I''ll try and send you an E-dress. Cheers. Always look forward to the updates.

what if,,,,what if that area becomes a very large complex like edison ??? recieves all kinds of cars / maybe a switchback / what if the back track becomes a terminus for cal-train , would love to see passenger ops included somewhere on your layout Rick [ i know you model an industrial spur switching layout ] but lucky for you , you do have plenty of options. gotta love options, say gday to Ben also plz.

that hauler wouldn't be a bad job to work in real life... but usually a job like this has a late evening start time... still not a bad road job to work... no wayfreight work, just the transfer work... nice

The new extension is in my opinion the same as the Orange area surely you could have made it somewhat different because all your switching moves will be the same as in Orange.A sure way to get bored very quickly. Chris in the IK

Another thought if you continue the track all the way to the end of the lay out edge you may be able to add up to 3 or5 industries. Now I know you are trying to be prototypical , but proto freelance is fun and nobody will know but you . Just don't tell 1
