I like how they did the cases to introduce the Dragons individually so they weren't just a bunch of strangers in the puzzle party. I think one thing that would've been neat would've been if there were mentions of the Richmond fortune or even one or two of the Dragons thinking Ernest looked familiar before this case so that it was kinda better foreshadowed

Hi! I see you where a little confused about the sequel thing: There's planned to be a sequel to this game, but there's no information on it yet, tho an anime has been announced(there are still barely any details about it). What you read about Layton 7 is a cancelled project that was going to be a purely puzzle game that was going to be using BOTH 3DS and IOS for it's gameplay (I'm saying it's cancelled because there hasn't been any info on it since many many years and already layton's mystery journey came out, which is kinda considered "layton 7", even tho it isnt...). Still, I hope that in the next game we get more info about Layton and we get to see old characters again!

So, they pretty much used the professor as fan bait, didn't really explain why the dog talks or why he can talk, and pretty much the ending was a cop out, and the villains never really put up that much of a challenge... Not even a Panzer could save this game. At least the Azran legacy and Layton V. Wright had some tense moments. They even pulled some great plot twists and amazing duels. I feel like this game let me down more than it did anything good

Noisy Boi Ya..... When I play this chapter the only thing I get is.......... what just happened I don't understand and it's over....... WHAT ? But good comedy show and success separate katerline and professor Layton story So it won't feels like watching the same thing tho.

Yeah it was giant one giant filler game which was very annoying. And the main mystery of the game was solved in the anime out of all things

I just have a big problem with "At least Azran Legacy" I get the Layton v Wright critisism, but you can't convince me Azran Legacy was disappointing. I loved the game.

I honestly was so torn up about Emmy betraying Layton in Azran Legacy, mainly because of the circumstances of her absence but also because of the fact she was a legendary character, but I don't understand why they literally left the story unfinished {in my eyes} and jumped like 20 years into the future- in that time, Katrielle has been born and Layton has disappeared. But what of Luke? and WHO IS THE MOTHER OF KATRIELLE?!! So many questions need answering- they really need to do another proper 3DS exclusive game like they used to to reveal everything.

we actually know the answers where Layton and Luke are and who the mother is (it is explained in the anime) but there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

I think that Katrielle is Sycamore's long-lost thought-to-be-dead daughter, and Layton adopted her. How? I suppose all would eventually be explained. As a mystery-guy, Layton thought that strange note was one of his own ways of breaking it to her _slowly_ ... Seeing as Katrielle's so brainy and all. We can also assume her mother had blue eyes ^^

The 1st four episodes are free so if you end up not enjoying it no harm done and in my opinion Alfendi Layton is one of the best and most layered characters in the entire Layton series. Ay so I've been watching all of your gameplays of the Professor Layton series and Ace Attorney series, and I highly recommend playing the Prof. Layton spin-off game "Layton Brothers: Mystery Room." It has no puzzles but it involves mysteries surrounding murder cases, and as a fan of Professor Layton and Ace Attorney I enjoyed it waaaay more than Layton's Mystery Journey. I think you will enjoy playing it too! Please consider it, the game will not disappoint.

hi KC! loved your playthrough, one of my favourites for sure. i know it's been a while since this game came out but if you are still intrigued, i really recommend the anime. it's just good, way better than the game imo. the short-case format works a lot better on an anime, and they redid some cases from the game to add more backstory and it feels more organic. they also go a little over how professor layton disappeared and where luke is now, so like yeah! def recommend a watch

Im dissapointed in this game :(. Layton was not in here, the story is weak, the puzzles are way too easy and childish, and the small plot twists in the game are so predicteble....... Im hoping for a game more focused on Layton and the old characters, and one big story with those amazing plot twists....

19:44 Ahhh... I understand the story here now. Lord Richmond knew that if the 7 Dragons and himself found the diamonds, they would just instantly dissappear due to his debts over the land they were found on. So he let go of the land for his 7 friends so they could claim the diamonds and use them for the good of London. But the Dragons wanted to return the diamonds to Richmond before him and his family lost everything they had. But he didn't want his friends' help, and told them to keep the diamonds, until he died! 🥲
