About the compliment thing, I saw a comment online about it that explained it. Women don’t feel comfortable complimenting men they don’t know well because many of them immediately assume you’re hitting on them. No matter how mundane the compliment is. Women can just take compliments for what they are. A lot of guys will think “SHE WANTS ME” because she liked his shirt.

I'm in the obese class. Pushing 230lbs at one point. Dealing with depression for my entire life. Still, I put myself out there, I open my heart to anyone I speak to. Never being rude or gossiping about anyone. Always dress put together. Clean, modest, and respectful with my language. I'm also in my mid-thirties so I've experienced a mixed variety of interactions in my life. A compliment is a compliment no matter the context. You just have to be willing to see it. Side note I've known my husband since high school so 98% of compliments regarding my appearance come from him. Also, understand we live in a world where men are damned if they do and damned if they don't. For example, man- "Oh I like your outfit today!" Woman-"Stop harassing me!" Man- dang, you are strong for a girl!" Girl- "what you think I'm less of a human because I'm a girl!" Men have been shut down and dumped on for a long time now. This creates fear from even looking at the opposite sex.
