I'm from Scotland been a proud Bengals fan since AJ and Dalton were drafted, mainly for the reason that a college highlight video for AJ was the first time I had properly seen football, I instantly fell in love with it. I said to myself that which ever NFL team he ended up on, would the team I followed, and I will be going to my first ever game next year during the London games, cannot wait :)

They were multiple ways that I became a Pats fan. 1. The very first NFL game I ever watched was the second SB between the Giants and Patriots. 2. My whole family served in the military (US) so my favorite colors are red, white, and blue. 3. My old school mascot was was the patriots. So yes

I became a Patriots when they won the Superbowl for the first time. I'm from the Detroit area, and was too young to remember Barry Sanders, so when I really got interested in football I wasn't going to be a Lions fan. I saw this team win Superbowl XXXVI, I knew they were the team for me.

Lazarbeam please make this a series or at least respond: it is called team shuffle. You take the team's roster, and RANDOMLY mix up all the starters and notable players and their positions, leading to a mixed up lineup for that team (for instance vollmer at SS, Brady at CB, Butler HB, Gosto at LT, as a result of using some kind of online randomizer). And using this edited team play a rival (unedited) team. Do this for all 32 teams maybe over the course of a year and it would make a great series. Also I'll keep posting this until I get feedback

Ah, same reason I started off a Colts fan on Madden 03. It was Peyton and Marvin Harrison, all day. But then I saw the Cowboy-Bills game where Romo had like 3 turnovers in the first quarter, but Nick Folk won the game with two FG's (only one counted because it was an iced kick from a timeout.) and became a Nick Folk fan. But now I don't cheer for a particular team.

the reason I became a Patriots fan I think is a fair reason. when I turn 10 years old 10 days later was 9/11 the Patriots won the Superbowl that year I figured out what the definition of a patriot was and since then I've never looked back

The reason I and many other people care about bandwagon fans or front runners is because of multiple reasons. One as a Jets fan, I live in New York, I have never seen the Jets win a Superbowl and it isn't fair for someone to just jump on the best team and experience the winning without having to watch your team lose. You are not a real fan if you just switch the team you like because they don't win. The second reason is because a lot of the time band wagon fans don't actually know anything about their team, or they spend the entire time talking about how good their team is when other people who have been a fan of a team all their life aren't afforded that luxury. By the way I respect your story of how you became a fan.

The reason I stopped being a Patriots fan was because I realized they were cheaters and that they cheated against the Eagles (A.K.A. my favorite team) by recording their practices before the Super Bowl. Yet, the Eagles still would've won because they held the Pats by one field goal.
