I HATE Supercell...

I hate Supercell. EA and Activision suck, but the stuff Supercell has done is just wild. How can a company get away with almost scamming their entire community?

*DISCLAIMER* - This video is mainly directed towards the Clash Royale dev team since I have most experience with them. My point still stands, but I can understand the confusion based upon supercell being responsible for coc and brawl star ips. @@oceans6517 They added "Starr drops", a form of brawl box that you can get for winning battles, 3 a day. But the rewards are heavily dependant on RNG, meaning many players got like 2 coins and a few powerpoints per day. They used Starr drops as an excuse to nerf progression when the drops rarely gave anyone anything. The brawl stars dev team is quite social with the community and is generally f2p friendly, so I doubt this change was made with money in mind.

In my honest opinion, it's more of a: "worse game of a company", rather than a "worst company ever", since, y'know, clash of clans and brawl stars are still great, like you said for clash of clans, expending real money to progress the game is basically just removing the fun of it, and for brawl stars, that literally removed a lootbox system and replaced it with a system where you play the game to get brawlers, and add a new currency to get skins only (sure, you don't get the one time only tier skins, but that's understandable), and the brawler pass costs gem to get, which you can get on the free brawler pass, and the other lesser known game are still getting updates, hayday just celebrated his 11th birthday, now of course there's boom beach, but from what it's seems, the player count is definitely too low to get much attention... But still, in my opinion, this is the worst game of a company, rather than the worse company of all Edit: yes, the battle pass of brawl stars now need real money, but the majority of my points still stand

I can see the side of this and how supercell has made some great games, but based on their track record (the guys have killed off like 20 games people have invested in it’s crazy) they’ll just continue doing this to their dedicated player base over and over all the time. The Dev. Team behind COC is a blessing of heaven, they really care of making progression even faster by adjusting lab prices, walls, adding events that allow us to get spells, books, resources, etc. Adding microtransactions is just there.... and the gold pass actually gives you benefits, less time builds, labs, etc, and its at 75% less pricing that the Diamond pass... but yeah, hopefully COC Dev. team doesn't get replaced...

I just believe that once clash Royale is ultimately killed off with everyone just shitting on it and leaving the game for good, the same will happen for every other game supercell has made, eventually wasting all the time and money people have dedicated towards them. ​@@Ottorio.i think this is a very unfair complaint because first, clash of clans is 11 years old and it is still supported like it released yesterday which is something i never see at all with any other game even the big ones. and second, each supercell dev team essentially work like they're their own companies independent from one another, basically they don't get monitored or overseen by a bunch of higher ups which makes each decision they make on them and not the larger company as a whole, which also explains why clash royale is the only supercell game that's struggling right now.

People thought the game would die during the period between 2019-2020 but the dev actually pulled it back and I've never seen the CC community as happy as they are nowm the same goes for brawl stars. People thought that gears would've been the end of the game, but the devs decided to change their mind on their postponed rework for gears because of the backlash . Comparing Supercell toBlizz and fucking EA is a slap in the face to the work the other devs have put into their game.

Seeing everyone call out "the dev team", as a developer with the experience I have, I can reassure you that it's 99% likely that the devs simply listen to commands from higher-ups, like product managers and stakeholders. I doubt the devs themselves make much off of this, unless they hold any stock shares, where even then, to gain miniscule amounts of money by doing the playerbase like that would be absolutely petty and incompetent. So for the most part, I would blame the ones making the decisions, and eventually allowing those decisions to pass. Because even if the devs were to be proposing those changes, the higher-ups, or at least the product manager will have the final say.

Games that make you pull for the same cards to level up a single card will never fail to piss me off. Dragon Ball Legends, for example, forces you to summon the same character (or buy that characters z-energy or whatever the fuck it's called) to limit break that character, and with some, zenkai the character. This system sucks when you have limited LLs or ultra units that you need EXTREME luck, or a couple hundred dollars just to get a single copy of that character before their banner ends. For a personal example, I pulled LL Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, but to this day he's at the very base level because my luck is terrible. *core game mechanics* should not be gated behind luck and money. That shit is the worst

i think one of the worse things in clash royale is the face you can unlock cards before you get to the arena for example getting legendarys especially when they make events to get the card and if u get 3 losses ur done unless u pay money

Solid video explains exactly how I felt used to play the game during high school. I just came back, and I have less of a clue what's going on. The game is super flashy now with all of the buy this, but that even in clans getting the update that your clan mates bought the pass the nonsense of people having things I can't naturally obtain and now there's evolution cards too. I enjoy the game, but uninstalling seems easier than shelling out my pocket to not get tickled almost every 14/20 games I play semi daily.

Also, level gates can make the over level opponents problem even bigger, as the opponents essentially get more of the same cards (as higher level ones are locked), thereby creating a higher card level discrepancy

This game was such a huge part of my childhood. I was having so much fun when I was finally at the point where I have a deck or two at max level to really compete on the ladder. It took me so long but eventually it was done so that I was able to play against the best (not pro player level but top 1000 or 2000 global level). That was what made the game fun for me. But a few months ago I got sick of the fact all the grinding was meaningless with the introduction of lvl 15 - it would take an eternity to be able to play with a maxed out deck again to play against good players on a fair card level basis. Repeating all the hard work of grinding? No thanks. There was no other way for me than to quit the game. It's such a shame what the game had become and how easily they could have found countless other solution to make the game profitable for Supercell and NOT betraying the community.. I hate Supercell.

tbh the brawl stars dev team has been taking HUGE STEPS to minimalize spending money on the game, reducing payments to mostly only cosmetics. (they added a free to play currency that you can buy those cosmetics for, but you can buy the cosmetics instantly if you get them with real money.

As someone who’s played since Global it kind of sucks to see the game fall this hard. Also this is more of a CR hate video than a Supercell video as you don’t mention the practices they preform in their other games, which as someone whose played all the games, there’s a well balanced dichotomy between f2p and p2w like in Clash of Clans and Brawl.

They're actually doing pretty good with Brawl stars. The dev team actually listenes to feedback, the recent updates (since the Starr road) were absolute FIRE, and both p2p and f2p are perfectly viable, saying it as a f2p player. Safe to say the game deserves it's recent GIGANTIC popularity spike

came back on CR few months before lvl15 and i was having fun because me and my friends came back and created a clan which gained traction and our clan was somehow full and active on clan wars. It was all going well until they released the news of lvl15, and the new pass and event shop. One day after that we all left and quit. Our once active clan was dead after that. I still log on once a month just to check if someone is still active since then but no one was online except me instead of before when there was like 15/50 online whenever I logged in. TLDR: Cant bring myself to play the game since they released lvl15 and diamond pass

Something that kind of made me mad at Supercell is how they handled glitches in Brawl Stars. When there was a glitch allowing players to prestige to max level my not removing the prestige tokens from their account, they banned/suspended the players that used it but they let a pay to win skin (Horus Bo) continue to be played (For a bit the skin gave his main weapon a larger area for splash damage)

Well idk about you but using a game breaking glitch to get multiple years or thousands of dollars worth of progress in minutes is pretty bannable. I'm pretty sure that the Bo glitch was fixed in a week but feel free to correct me.
