So this guy, with a perfectly working radio, finds a room full of blood and dead bodies, and he makes NO attempt to tell them about the situation. He crouches down to stare into a vent, sees a body being dragged away, still nothin'. His buddies even message him like "hey, we need to refuel" and he STILL doesn't respond. Either this guy's an absolute unit, or he's got balls bigger than his brain.

The threat organism whistles back when afar to lure survivors to a false sense of security. It no longer whistles if you are close enough for it to grab you. I think it is also some habit from Ancient Mediterranean sailors who did this to signal some kind of essential actions.

@@obviouslyme1293 There is a note that states the statues (which move) started mimicking one of the crew, who at one point whistled out to them. You then decide to whistle to ascertain if one is nearby and coming for you. It's pretty creepy tbh.

he picks up and reads a note very early into the video that explains exactly what the whistling is for. Some of the statues move and are hostile. If you whistle from far enough away, it will whistle back. Edit: how you know if an area is safe or not
