Lazy Afternoons - Kingdom Hearts II Piano Collections

I continue to tinker with the mic mixing, and it's honestly mind-boggling how different a single recording can sound when shifting focus from one pair of mics to the other!
It's sort of fun though. I'll keep trying different settings until one sticks that sounds just right!
As for the piece, it's one I remember picking up over 10 years ago now, and I completely forgot about it until very recently. I tried relearning it and got the hang of it in a few days, in stark contrast to when I first attempted it - it may not be the most difficult technically, but at the time, I found it extremely challenging! It's always really fun to see how much progress I've made since then, especially when I remember wondering if I'd get any better since at 16 I thought I'd suddenly stop making progress at that age for some reason lol
I have another Kingdom Hearts piece that has a lot of sentimental value for me up next, and then I'll try recording some more current stuff!

Also the recording quality has vastly improved. Many nuances used to be lost in some of your older vids but now we can even hear the pedaling noises and the proper warmth of this instrument.

THANK YOU! It has, quite literally, taken me 8 years, 4 mics and so much trial and error to arrive at a point where I'm satisfied with the sound quality. It is indeed a very naturally warm grand piano, and I'm happy the mics capture it as well as they do now - no need for any sound processing anymore on my end!

Amazing performance!! I love Kingdom Hearts, especially 358/2 days and this brings back fond memories of playing it. The music for 358/2 days is so good, especially Vector to the Heavens (btw your old cover of that is also amazing!)

I'm playing the official piano collections arrangement! It'll probably take some googling, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere - maybe search for the whole Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections book on scribid, though there should be some pdfs floating around in general!
