I built this polystyrene shredding machine in '07. Originally, it was a petrol powered garden shredder but it was noisy, hot, smelly & dangerous. I re-powered it with a 5 Kw 220 VAC Baldor motor that was originally used to power a hydraulic pump & stabilisers on a 140 ft power boat. Rewelded the frame & attached a plastic hopper to feed the beast. On top of the shredder hopper sits a 220 VAC hotwire cutter made with 120 Lb fishing trace wire. This could kill you but it's the most efficient way of cutting up the big lumps of polystyrene. I can fill a 75 gallon beanbag with shredded polystyrene peanuts in under 10 mins. It fills about 150 bags & 1000 gallons of waste polystyrene per year, thereby keeping it out of the local landfill & under our bodies for proper comfort & relaxation. The beanbag loungers I design & produce in Antigua are weatherproof & designed for yachts, their guests & crew. Further info www.lazybonesbeanbags.com or 1268 770 4935
