SI3D has been specifically designed for people with amblyopia and/or strabismus.
SI3D's OcuView lens is designed for these exercises and general Vision Therapy. OcuView is much more effective at promoting 3D vision than full oclussion. If you do not have OcuView, use your hand or patch to cover your dominant eye.
Sit directly in front of the laptop or PC monitor (bigger screen is best for training).
Ensure you sit comfortably. Sit about an arms length away with your head central to the screen or monitor. Do NOT move your head unless instructed to do so - EYES ONLY.
If you suffer with amblyopia in both eyes do exercises for left and right eye equally.
DO NOT STARE FOR PROLONGED PERIODS AS THIS WILL STRAIN YOUR EYES! Blink often, blink often, blink often! Blinking does 3 important things:- 1/ It lubricates the eyes 2/ it minimizes strain and 3/ forces your eyes to refocus on the target.
You must exercise between 30-60 minutes daily (15-30 morning/ 15-30 evening). It is best to train as soon as you can after waking, and just before you go to bed. If you train more, ensure you rest your eyes every 30 minutes for at least 15 minutes.
Exercising daily must become habit. Your eyes and brain will only 'learn' if they are continually stimulated with exercise. You will get out what you put in.
You must be under the guidance and supervision of a registered VT (Vision Therapist) before carrying out any training or oclussion.
I am not a professional. I am simply someone who suffers with Amblyopia and Strabismus, and I developed these tools and exercises to help people like me.

Update: I received a comment (since deleted by the user) stating they could not read the instructions/disclaimer despite having a large screen, and that the text was blurred. Videos will auto default to a lower resolution depending on your device and internet speed. All videos should play in full HD if your device and connection allows. I have now added the instructions and disclaimer to the video description.

VT must be carried out under the supervision of a qualified therapist. Can you tell me how you are exercising - What method of occlusion, your condition(s), your vision acuity etc etc.

Yes, cover the dominant eye. You are trying to build strength and pathways to the visual cortex from the weaker eye.

Hi, and thank you for your comment. First, I have to advise you that I'm not a doctor or a specialist in this field. I am simply someone who suffers with the same condition(s). Could you tell me a little more about your condition (amblyopia and/or strabismus), do you wear glasses or contact lenses etc? When you say "many doctors said no chance." - where the doctors you have seen qualified in Vision Therapy? The reason I ask is because I was in my early 40's when I finally found a VT who gave a completely different prognosis to the doctors I had visited over the previous 30 years, and that included visiting a prominent eye University in England 15yrs ago. They all advised that nothing could be done after the age of 7. This thinking is not the current concensus amongst those who are more up to date with neuroplasticity (the brains ability to 'rewire' or learn new things.) But not all eye doctors are up to date. Do you have a local VT that you can visit to get a more indepth assessment? I would implore you to look up Professor Susan Barry (stereo sue) who did a TedTalk called 'fixing my gaze' who was also told that nothing could be done, and gained 3d stereoscopic vision at the age of 50. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your reply. Do not give up! If you looked at Prof. Susan Barry, it should give you hope. Amblyopia is a neurological disorder, and what the eye doctors have told you is based on previous thinking - that the neuroplasticity of the visual cortex is formed by the age of 7 (the 'critical period'), and cannot be reversed. This is not what is currently understood in western medicine, after decades of research and experimentation - this is why I sent you the example of Prof. Susan Barry. She is just one example of people that have developed 3D stereoscopic vision long after this 'critical period' had ended. I am not stating that you CAN gain 3D vision because I am not a qualified expert. But exercising the neurological pathways has been shown to increase over time. As with any muscle (brain included), if we do not use the muscle, it will decline further over time. When you said quote: "...my left eyes getting down that's why I'm afraid now." - do you mean you are developing strabismus (eye turn), or do you mean it is getting you down psychologically? Yes, I am well aware of the cost of Vision Therapy. The few sessions I had cost around £200 per time, and this was not including the cost of a 2 hour journey each way, plus food etc. This is the main reason I developed the channel and soon, the website. I have developed the exercises and the tools (such as the OcuView) to ensure it was affordable and accessible to all, regardless of income.

does one need to use a patch?
@seein3d456
@seein3d456 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use a patch. I would advise that using your hand or even finger to partially occlude the dominant eye as it allows more light to enter, promoting binocular vision much better than full occlusion. If you stay subbed to the channel, in about a month or so, I will be offering the OcuView for those with amblyopia and/or strabismus which is the best method for promoting 3D vision. Due to being in the middle of a renovation and house move, the OcuView has had to be postponed until i am able to commit my full attention to the channel and offer some great tools for developing 3D vision.
