Higher gamma is definitely the move for the best viewing experience. Brightness/Gamma is usually better to have cranked up a bit for the viewers. For whatever reason it's easier to see what's happening when you're playing vs watching the recording. Same thing happened a lot with old minecraft videos/streams, where the content creator could see fine but the viewers were basically blind. I don't think it's as severe in isaac as it is in minecraft but same concept applies imo. TLDR: Higher gamma (130) better

I think something about youtube's compression/rendering makes dark stuff darker than it really is. I notice this especially in games with a "nighttime," the screen basically turns black in youtube videos

@@badger273 I assume most compression in general compresses darker colors more, since when it comes to human vision usually changes in darkness are harder to tell than changes in lighter colors (iirc,) not to mention that lowering gamma lowers overall contrast in general i think which doesn't help

17:26 the brim laser beams are a multiplayer quality of life addition they only show up in multiplayer in rooms that are larger than 1x1 i'm not TOTALLY sure about the room size stipulation, but i know that the warning lasers are for multiplayer exclusively they're there so you can't get unfairly killed by a vis off-screen that someone else aggro'd and aimed in your direction

The laser beam thing only applies with 2 conditions: 1: It's a big room. 1x2, L shape or 2x2, any works 2: It's online multiplayer Most laser beams won't even shoot if they come from off screen but since another player could activate them, they have the little warning in online. You'll never see them when playing solo unless the room started as online
