Still a lovely pair after all these years. Their performances are unforgettable and will remain so for years

I also enjoyed listening and watching this interview. It was very interesting hearing about the early years of you both. It really seems as it was “ meant to be”. That certainly shows up in your performances. At 84 I am still in love with you both.🤗🤗🥰🥰💕💕

Great interview from James and such an amazing pair they lifted the nation during the 80s

Longtime fan of Torville and Dean, and I think this was one of the best interviews I've heard. James O'Brien is a lovely interviewer!

I’ve followed Torvill and Dean since 1981 and read their original biography about the early days many times but never heard them talk about it quite like this. Something that only comes with age, wisdom and recollection. And having seen Katarina Witt’s farewell tour in Berlin in 2008 their last dance next year can only be spectacular

On KZbin there are some interesting videos of the series Life stories from Pierce Morgan. I think they are worth watching, when you are interested in detailed and maybe new information.

This was a wonderful interview. My uncle was a drama teacher in Nottingham and I believe it was him who gave the BBC Radio Nottingham music library the vinyl copies of Mack and Mabel that Jayne and Chris would've been inspired by. I'm going to see their final tour in 2025 (after first seeing them live in 1990) and I can't explain quite how influential they have been. Without seeing them perform Mack and Mabel and Barnum, I would never have taken an interest in musicals. Without Bolero, I would never have developed an interest in classical music. Without seeing them perform Akhenaten, I would never have become an opera fan. Thank you, Jayne and Chris. You have made my life far far richer.

I will always remember screaming at the tv when Torville and Dean didn't win gold...it was SO clearly cheating to the rest of the world... Magnificent, elegant, grace on ice, phenomenal performance. The rest of America knew the Russians didn't play fair.
@ErikaA258210 ай бұрын
I'm still triggered by it tbh. It was blatantly a fix and the Olympic committee did nothing about the cheating until it all blew up in 2002 with the pairs competition.

Thank you for an interesting and entertaining interview. Both have a wonderful sense of synchronicity in all domains. And of course that passion and the mindset to dance a story on ice with a signature artistry. Such a remarkable complicity I have only witnessed in the partnership of Rose Ayling Ellis and Giovanni Pernice in Strictly Come Dancing. I enjoyed your conversation and consider it a gentle prelude to the celebration of the last dance on ice of this dream couple.

How did we get to the place where politics is the bottom layer of our nations history. Clearly it’s not 100% of all the politicians but the small number of slim still impacts the ( as James says ) the cake can not be unbaked. Your fantastic cake has a thin layer of dog mess on it…..can you scrape it off and eat the cake …… probably not. Even in sports people play politics. Maybe it’s just human nature to take or try and take or look to seeing where me me me me me take a slice of pie.
