I'm an Aussie commercial pilot who is ex-Royal Australian Air Force and I can confidently state that Trump's remarks transcend ignorance and leap headlong into complete idiocy. There are quite strict ongoing training and checking standards applied to military pilots, airline pilots, and air traffic controllers, no matter what background you have. Any pilot or controller understands this. The people who don't understand this are people like this mendacious muppet who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Major aviation accidents like this usually have a chain of complex contributing factors but this bloke wouldn't know the back end from the front of a helicopter or aircraft.

Nope. The FAAs DEI policy that Trump is referring to is from 2013, when they FAA actively sought to recruit such people as those with some mental impairment, or sight or hearing issues, or mobility issues. I.e. the disabled, who have just as much right to work as anyone. Despite air traffic controllers (ATC) making up a fraction of FAA jobs, with of course things like the legal, HR, finance, admin etc departments existing in any large organisation; Trump without evidence, is trying to claim these hires were for ATC positions - which is of course nonsense.

As a former employer, it is true that we were forced to ensure that we employed x % of staff from this and that parts of society. Skill sets take 2nd place because many of those did not meet the aptitude, attitude etc, so there is a real issue here. That is not to say some ethnics do pull their weight and learn, engage and do perform well. Iain Dale's attitude in refusing to accept the situation tells us that he is falling short, possibly due to his boss being forced to accept him under DEI law.?

This host said what I was thinking. America has great people, but it’s always the people like this guy that get the like light. These are the people that put their face on TV to represent normal people when they are far from normal.
