I love Andrew Roberts, and even though his talks on Churchill follow many very familiar lines, it's still z genuine pleasure to listen to him each and every time.

This guy is not only a good author-he's an awesome and interesting speaker. It gives much younger generations a new appreciation for Churchill. Well done lbj foundation.

Andrew Roberts is just the sort of Englishman we sadly have a dearth of in modern times, if possible, he'd have shone even brighter in Churchill's era.

Great interview. Rove did a great job throwing in humor and garnering great insights. Some people may be surprised to find rove to be so charming and affable in an intimate environment like this. Well done

I am publishing this comment before watching this video. I've got Rove on an EXTREMELY TIGHT leash. Georgie Boy bush turned into a RINO, and Rove supported him nonetheless. I recognize Rove's political genius, and I'd rather have him on my team than against, but I despise the way he treated a true Conservative in the 2016 election, and I will unleash plenty of venom if he continues so in this interview. But for now I have an open mind. Throw down the gauntlet...

Neutral bias. I applaud him. Had Rove done so in 2016, and most importantly in 2020, we'd be a different country today. Hopefully he will continue exhibiting common sense instead of political expediency and support THE CORRECT CANDIDATES in 2022 and most especially in 2024. I've got my hairy eyeball on you Rove boy.

Karl Rove...that's a guy we haven't heard much from, lately. He was central to Republican politics during the Bush II regime.

So according to Mr. Roberts, the Brits came to India, because India was poor country and Brits/Churchill wanted to make India wealthy and build a railway system. Second its well documented that India had better share of global GDP, before Brit arrived. Third he talks about Sati, which is fine, but since he whitewashes everything that Churchill did, he could have study little deeper and figured out, where it was practiced and how many such deaths happened when British came. I haven't read a line of the book, just this interview is good enough to figure the book is a white wash :-)

Fully In the spirit of his beloved benevolent empire churchill starved 5 million people to death in Bengal by creating an artificial food crisis. He even made fun of the well meaning British bureaucrats who wanted to release some food. Again, completely out of the goodness of his imperial heart. You cant fault St Churchill.

The British created universities for the first time in Indias history? Dear Andrew, please, ancient or medieval history is not your forte. Stay away please. Hugely enjoy your other work.

Great book and I’ve read all the major WC bios and many of the cast of characters memoirs. There is a significant amount of new primary source material and the synthesis of secondary materials is excellent. However, AR’s is stretching towards hyperbole that there is something new of “virtually every page.” It’s unfortunate he couldn’t convince a publisher on two volumes. Watching Rove discuss WC will paint a portrait of the failure of the US political class. Rove hits his generational sexism out of the park w his Pamela Harriman comments. Pam had more political acumen in her pinky than Rove possesses in his fat ass.

His biography of Napoleon is essentially a ridiculous attempt to exalt Wellington and the British troops. There are numerous errors typical of English falsehoods when talking about Napoleon.

It is the opposite of what you just said! Perhaps you are confusing the great Andrew Roberts with Adam Zamoyski, go do some reading before you make these ludicrous statements!
