This was the crowning moment for Grant. They were never the same after this. They had many many great teams in the 90s and 2000s that got overshadowed by De La Salle before they had A CIF state playoffs. Onterrio Smith is the best I've ever seen in HS.

@@at2130 It is a shame to see not only what happened to Grant, but also Elk Grove, Nevada Union, and other large schools who fell off as more schools were built. I also agree with you on Onterrio Smith as the best ever Sac RB. Another sad story of talent thrown away.

@@marcvslicinivscrassvs7536 Yup they have built so many schools that the traditional powers are powers no more. Seems everybody now days goes to one of the Newer schools like Inderkum or Folsom. Alot of areas have changed as well. Dph used to be mostly black but is now mostly Hispanic. Seems alot of talented players from areas like DPH are not going to their local school anymore people are transferring to the schools with money to get a better opportunity.

That would be a good game. I think DLS would win the first one and by season 2 or 3 it would be anyones game because talented teams usually figure out DLS's fast pace best.

ever since that game, you didn't see or hear too much from poly. i know that poly has a great dynasty and you can never count poly out. we'll see if poly is back too their normal self when they travel to sacramento for a rematch with GRANT! i hope this turns into a rivalry for years to come. it's gonna be a huge draw. it took melvin richardson how long too score that 55 yard touch down. that was his only highlight of the the game. he wasn't a FACTOR. grant shut him down. grant recievers were burning poly's corners. poly had to adjust too grant team speed. just ask westbrook how hard he got hit by that PACER secondary.

Poly is also "Sports school of the Century." Now like I said, who the fuck is GRANT HS. Grant won fair and square but I promise you won't hear from them again. They didn't have State championship before then it ended at sections. These days are long gone. Too many High schools in sacramento now and everybody goes to the rich schools like Folsom.
