Back story for this song. Original version was known as "Glory to the Arab Banner" and was written as a motivational song (propaganda if you will) for the United Arab Republic, a nation formed from Egypt and Syria. Later the song was adopted by Saddam Hussein's Iraq where it was given the name "Glory to the Banner of Islam" as it is known today. The song was used by the ruling Ba'ath party who were disposed of power during the 2003 invasion by US coalition forces. Now there are various different versions used by a multitude of different Islamic groups.
