It is a pleasure for me to watch your videos and not only observe the mechanical skills and knowledge you possess, but also your demeanor as you cope and resolve the issues and difficulties associated with your profession.

Great video and great content all around. I really appreciate men like you sharing your knowledge and experience with weekend warriors like me. I either gain confidence to tackle jobs like this, or the relevant know how needed to seek out a professional such as yourself.

My LLY turbo made it to 410k and I rebuilt it with a rotomaster kit because it had a weird chirp when cold. Busings looked ok except for one score... it is now at 741k miles and still running well...

That’s pretty impressive!

That job sucks. I've done but in sections. Egr delete, compound turbo install, then new factory turbo. The heat shields on the up pipes are the worst. However I coated everything in pb blaster 3 times a day for a week leading up to the job and every bolt came out like butter.

Soaking them in penetrating oil is definitely the way to go!

What size is the oil drain opening in the back of the motor. I want to get a rubber plug to install after pulling the turbo. Then I can clean.

That’s actually a really good question. I have never put a plug in there. I’ve always used a blue shop towel

The earlier durmax has drain plug

How to stop lower return gasket from leaking its bigger then the hole
@hrdiesel2 ай бұрын
The hole in the gasket is not bigger than the flange on this one so therefore it doesn’t leak.

So how much is this job? I got an 06 that the veins stick open once its hot. When it gets cold, they work again.
@hrdiesel Жыл бұрын
It depends on how stuck the fasteners are and what all breaks when you take it apart. I try to be very open with the customer prior to the job that things might break and if so it unfortunately adds to the cost. It usually runs around $3-$4000.

Is it ok to drive my 2006 lbz with the poo3a code? My vanes are sticking also
@hrdiesel7 ай бұрын
It won’t hurt anything. This truck was like this for 2 years. Eventually it usually gets bad enough to lose power.

@@hrdiesel I have a injector tick in my truck on the passenger side I would like to send you a video of it if possible to see what you think

did my lbz turbo at 400k. It wasnt that bad, didnt have to remove the freon.

Sounds good! You really don’t have to but I did because I have the machine and it doesn’t take long and it gets everything out of my way.
