The down side of having a van with a significantly wider track than the car. Admittedly you guys weren't all that stuck at all. Wait til Jan when the sand is like powder....... Def always have 1 trax per tyre, van included. Van tyres need to be really low on the soft stuff too!! Well done, good setup and travel safe.

yup a few more maxtrax are on the Christmas list for sure haha thanks mate we have a trip booked to stradie in jan so knowing the sand will be like powder is not going to make it fun lol but will be a great experience never the less

Well experiences full of adventure and fun (and often mistakes) comes the opportunity to learn gain and share knowledge. Just another reason why 4wd and touring community is so good. Enjoy .

Nice video mate and hopefully wifey has had a G&T to calm the nerves...so funny. Also looked like you were running the tyres pressures in the van a little high still as they looked like they were digging right in and dragging like an anchor. Good luck in straddie and look forward to the next video. Nice Chopper. All the best and travel safe. Just watch your tides but Im sure you known that.

@@Lumberhacksteve thanks mate haha she most definitely calmed down after a wine at camp 😂 yeah there truck tyres so apparently really stiff probably going to swap them out when I got the spare coin. Thanks mate will do my best to make the next vid as entertaining 😂
@rogerbarr114922 күн бұрын
@@GetLost.Wanderingif you swap the van tyres out to good AT they’ll be LT…light truck build so not achieving anything. Just keep your pressures low. Go down to 10 psi all around if need be. So many are afraid to run low pressure…better than losing your setup to the ocean.

Great video guys, can feel the suspense thru the phone haha, getting bogged isn’t all terrifying, it’s all part of the fun and experience & that’s what is going to make you wanting to come back time & time again. Just stay calm next time & beep out the swearing! Would love to watch the video with the kids if it wasn’t for all the naughty words.

@@davidphamily6536 thanks mate! Already booked our selves a trip to straddie to do it all again haha, yeah the little brother has quiet the potty mouth unfortunately but will absolutely keep that in mind for future videos mate thanks for the feedback

I might have missed it but hopefully you figured out your centre difflock, and turning your traction control off. You got out easily enough so hopefully a bit more knowledge and more relaxed next time you tackle it. Thanks for the vid
@GetLost.WanderingАй бұрын
@@snakeo99 hey mate yeah traction was turned off had the car in sand mode which turns everything off for you. Yeah confidence is definitely going to be the key moving forward 👌🏼

Good job! Thats a big van to take up the beach - great effort. Not sure of your setup but 15-20 psi MAX on both caravan and vehicle can help. Keep steering smooth, give it a bit as soon as it feels heavy and you are less likely to get stuck, momentum is key. If your'e high stay on the flat until the transition is less severe, the steep transitions are really loose! 😅
@GetLost.WanderingАй бұрын
yep definitely going lower on the pressures next time haha i was a little worried about giving it a boot full incase i dug myself too deep lol

@GetLost.WanderingАй бұрын
@@love-life77738 haha yeah I think your right mate all that was running threw my mind was not tipping the van, but thinking back on it the van handled the sand a lot better then the car did with its the stock suspension. I think it was just a huge confidence thing that we will get past in due time hopefully lol
