Superb, excellent video and info just the info what I need to complete my unfinished touring set up next. You are right, that is so individual for every ones different demand. Cargo barrier ?! I was shocked about the prices called up for it. I don’t need it full time either. So idea is to get air cargo net to the front and ratchet it down. Same for top shelf thinking of a net for the jackets and soft items. If no needed can be stored in the side wings. Since I have decided on an 2 drawer Drifta set for storage and a 50 ltr. Waeco for the same reason I probably go for a simple fridge slide, no dropper, and 2 cargo rails to secure my alloy boxes while out without the van in tow. Your el system is also 90% fitting to my demand and will copy that from you. Thanks mate for the infos and please keep going with your vids, I‘am a step behind your Outfit and need such infos since sitting now far away from my car and van. Cheers

Thanks for the comments mate. Appreciate the feedback. Where did you get your cargo net from, that is something I could be interested in, I like the fact that it can be packed away and stored in the wing kits. The Drifta systems are great and keeping the design nice and simple keeps a easy and organised camp. I'm glad you got some ideas from my setup, thanks for the continued support! Cheers, Nathan.

XploringOz @ Nathan, thanks for your reply. As said I am steps behind you with the setup completion and at the moment locked up in Asia 7000 Kilometer away from my rig in MEL. I am looking now for small belt aircargo net material, then customized sewing, ratchet straps is then easy to make while taking measurements in the car. I like your idea to work with L- shape tie down runner ontop the drawer set. Going to source also. Will keep you posted on findings. Cheers

Yeah, I reckon thats a great idea for the cargo net. I think I'll do some research into this as well. Very interested in seeing what you come up with. If you feel like it, post some photo's on our Facebook page, would love to see your setup.

Another good walk through video, I like the cable chain arrangement can you provide a make and model of that one if it’s easily visible
@XploringOz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, appreciate it. So the cable chain doesn't have any markings or indications of brands etc. I did measure it for you and it came in a 25mm wide (external). I think something like this would suit most application: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/705-53470-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575556341&toolid=10001&campid=5338630196&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fitm%2FNylon-Towline-Cable-Drag-Chain-Wire-Protect-Carrier-CNC-R18-R28-R48-1M%2F163702250087%3F_trkparms%3Dispr%253D1%26hash%3Ditem261d6a1a67%3Am%3AmplmEwC0cLpAAAeH95P_0GQ%26amdata%3Denc%253DAQAEAAACYIQvEcHUrT7nmUC3yY5qbPyaBN1nJEDYW8MyypsJPgXKONGL1fghtnaQhEaNm8eGJboGuWJLzTRuSQ5NpNOJWSzDmywHcfIHSTabOpFHqPG5kVkvgJ3gL5rTLW2g%25252BtrzBAfwG%25252FcXpvmTHusoDDKArSylJWLmGdB1DMMwwklpqo12EqQuGhwpNSDG%25252FyAp1qRHu%25252BNqs9o39waMNQ5Fv3K%25252FMMQkUI8ewCX8KyZk61wE1jQLeX0ro1VajrhRxYhg4YsVPbf3azdDofgChAGh2qJZdROFnUJPK2BOBg1%25252FNeq1tfMBVKVLctV0vfI26JTutK%25252BODpG3ViTQ%25252BMbXI8cwADrr6Mr%25252FkDiqyJSqIfH6oirTVHBp9l5PborH6qb5n8S4wgQdQWzzTFPJQEhUKzDNL3%25252FM5UKqM1ZC9bw%25252FwHRAZoNCz7TUXuw63cMagKQbxARNyi16RMRoRkhnPDtGIysyT0GUkiwNj7rITEVF95CncysZcJzX2OSv4pasqhqunMJzvXT5eKueGhs0XWfCtihnnJBdJygOUZgOCJofqfVcrjSDMo446gJ6cCWwfGtHVhc8Inc8%25252Boi2bHdhp1huAy%25252FtkbSQKFNpDIUKjV8uGrnYnFv8DsZeM6sjKVT2PJtvRtsfybFOFGQHh5P6moZ0i1dz2pLz2i%25252F8hSym5ZKkoAn%25252BXZt155xDAJ2%25252BeafRHU62P5J%25252FaRqhkdZ3IpzLuoHK%25252BoI18g2kn4wZpThSjr%25252FSKeLozFc%25252BsHndBouGElXf%25252Fp%25252BkxEtykWgSHtb%25252F1N%25252BtP6h7mQYVU3icUm1Jcnmc5dWRmqgfcyEL10g3%2526cksum%253D16370225008787b24cfe43bc4e2093f6857ea006f356%2526ampid%253DPL_CLK%2526clp%253D2334524

Fantastic set up, well presented. Am so enjoying this channel. Did you run your battery cable via chassis or inside car and did you use 4b&s or different cable. I'm looking to install my compressor in the same spot. Cheers Eric.
@XploringOz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eric! I'm glad to hear your getting some value from the videos. So all of the wiring was run through the interior of the vehicle, only coming out to the exterior as close as possible to the accessory. I can't confirm exactly what size cabling was used in the aftermarket loom as all the work was completed at once by Ultimate 4WD Equipment in Bibra Lake. Awesome little spot to mount the compressor, very happy with that. Thanks, Nathan.

Thanks for sharing your setup. Looks like a very workable and practical system. I'm interested to know whereabouts you've installed your Victron shunt. If it's under the bonnet are you concerned about it getting wet. Cheers...
@XploringOz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, hope it was able to give you some ideas. So yes, the Victron shunt is mounted in the engine bay, with no particular attention paid to protecting it from the elements. It's been there for over a year now, through the winter and wet 4WD tracks and bog holes. Although it looks exposed, it has held up fine with no issues to report. Hopefully it will continue to function this way. Cheers, Nathan.

Another great video mate. Did you purchase the control s for your air bags from Air Bag Man? When you get a chance i would be keen to see a review on your Waeco fridge, currently torn between Engel vs Waeco.

This was an awesome video and an interesting setup but hope to ask a question. So we are needing to upgrade the Camry since we will be getting the 4th (and final lol) edition to our little tribe. I like to gold prospect here in Victoria, so a people mover was a no go. So we are looking at a Prado (prefer it to the pure Landcruiser), but we need to keep one of the rear seats, but haven't seen one that's a half draw set etc. So do they exist can you get one that has the fridge, but has the removable drawers on the other side or none at all? If I am out by myself or only have half the tribe, wouldn't mine extra storage organisation, esp with all the prospecting stuff.
@XploringOz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 👍 Haha, for sure, your car would certainly be filling up! I have seen some setups with 1 drawer (retaining the single 3rd row seat). I reckon it would definitely be something that could be done, it would just be a matter of finding a company that would do it. I reckon hit Chris up from Custom Installations and see if he has any solutions. He ships drawers systems all over the place. Cheers, Nathan 👍

@@XploringOz Oh its filling up, small army lol. Training them to help me dig for gold, so I can relax more lol. Awesome that they exist, will hit them up once I know exactly the model of car we get, as have seen some variations between even a few years.

Hey mate. Great vid. Question: Did you have to register the 200 series as a 5 seater after removing the 3rd row seats?
@XploringOz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. So this is a little bit of a grey area in WA. Vehicles need to be registered as 5 seaters if you remove the 3rd and fit a permanent modification to the vehicle, preventing the re-installation of the 3rd seats. However, these drawers can be removed simply and easily with 4 bolts and a few electrical plugs and therefore don't constitute a 'permanent' fixture. If desired, you could very well register the vehicle as a 5 seater. It would work either way. Thanks, Nathan.
