Hey mate, I’m wanting to get one for my territory, it’s a 2.7 v6 diesel. Would you recommend something other than flashlube? Cheers Good to find that issue before it caused any major issues on your cruiser

Nice upgrade moving over to the provent, I'm able to fit both a prefilter and provent in the same corner on my 200. Probably just need a different provent mounting kit, only issue is that it's difficult to observe the prefilter glass bowl with everything in the way.

My customer has the same problem I fitted it and 7000km blocked and started blowing blue smoke because the engine had been pressurised and pretty much stuffed the turbo not rating them at all

Hey mate I'm just wondering if you think a flashlube pro is a good choice of catch can's for a 2022 sr5? everyone says they're similar with prevents... just sussing
@outlandyishrig25572 жыл бұрын
Hey can you confirm that the inlet and outlet are reverse with Flashlube to Provent, now that you have fitted both. that the inlet on one is through the top connection, where the inlet on the other is via the lower connection. other channels have said they are basically the same catch can but rebranded, how can this be ? i think this is the reason so many people get them hooked up incorrect ?
@DaSpedza2 жыл бұрын
Yes the catch can pro and the provent 200 are reversed with the way they’re plumbed up. With the catch can pro having dirty side come in from the bottom and the fresh out the top. The Provent 200 is dirty side from the top and clean out the bottom. However they’re correct with saying the Provent and Flashlube catch can pro are the same just not the Provent 200, The Provent catch can they’re referring to in this instance is the little Provent 100.

I have provent 150 or 100 (the smallest one), but i dont use it. I just vent pcv hose to atnosphere.

Flashlube does not do the V8 toyota engines. 4cly only.

You were saying? @@DaSpedza Yep and i have seen them stuff up the toyota v8s kinda what you was talking about in your video???, Also they do not work on common rail diesel engines (for patrols) to my extreme disappointment as the unit is small and ideal for under the bonnet and the provent catch cans is too tight of a fit. And the flashlube kit to suit patrols for zd30 engines 2007 onwards has been updated on most 4x4 sellers sites as not suitable for commrail.
@DaSpedza2 жыл бұрын
Oh I thought you meant they didn’t make a kit for them. And yes I totally agree they should only be for the 4cylinders. Interesting about the zd30 CRD have you installed one on your patrol? I installed a few on non crd zd30 patrols and they seemed to be ok. Also the Dmax’s were ok. The only one i ran into issues with was my V8 cruiser. The provent however is a better can imo. I know it is larger and takes up alot of space and that is the downfall but atleast it does the job.

@@DaSpedza No i was going to order the flashlube catch can kit, But found on 3 different sellers for flashlube on the description states NOT recommended for common rail engines and that blew me away. I have been using flashlube injector cleaners both diesel and petrol for at least 15+ years and LOVE them. But was shocked to see that even on flashlubes website it does indeed state not for common rail engines. So i have sent a email off to them to explain why they can't be used for these engines (zd30) and if they have another option. I am now looking at using a provent catch can kit instead if flashlube replies back with a reason why and i would pass the information on to you if you like. Either way i am just so very surprised that flashlube does not recommend the catch cans for common rail engines considering they are very common these days in diesel engines.
@DaSpedza2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm that interesting 🤔 like i said it’s definitely the first I’ve heard about it not being recommended for common rail. I would be interested to see why they don’t recommend them on the crd zd30. Let us know how you go with it all. 👍🏻
