Wild Camping / Bikepacking on the Isle of Wight. Cycling is my kryptonite. Hammock camping

Needed to blow out a few cobwebs and have a chilled night wild camping under the stars.
Despite disliking cycling with a passion I once again threw my leg over my trusty steed for a bikepacking adventure.
Cooked up a pigeon stir fry on my trusty Fancee Feast stove and let the world drift by in my hammock.
Just what I needed.
Thanks to ‪@martinnewnham‬ for the tunes as always

for the cook set.

I like bikepacking but then I've been riding constantly all my life. But it's tough, my carbon road bike (not suitable for bikepacking)is around 7.5kg but my lightest bikepacking set up is 20kg or as much as 30kg on the off road winter set up I use. So a e bike is a good choice I reckon I've seen a few people now using them to bike pack. I live on the edge of the West Midlands and South Staffs boarder so even though we are in the sticks it's still very urban if that makes sense. I have to travel at least 30 miles just to get into quieter countryside and at least 45 just to get to the base of the Peak District. Wild camping is really tricky as well, plenty of places but either frowned upon or the law is brought into force. I try to find basic campsites and use it as a base to ride from, it is what it is so I just make the most of it.

That was a nice little video. it is very visible that you lost a LOT of weight, can't really call you FUB any longer. 😉 I think the E-Bike might be the better option especially for an old fart like me. If you do find a sponsor, put in a word for me, but knowing my luck, I'd get a a racing saddle aka, 6 inch nail to sit on.
