The recent Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) South Africa webinar, held in collaboration with the Climate Action Network South Africa (SACAN), Global Shapers: Tshwane Hub, and the South African Youth Climate Change Coalition, in partnership with the African Leadership Academy, was an inspiring and informative event that brought together young minds committed to bold climate action.
The Goal: Co-Creating Principles for Youth Engagement
The primary goal of the webinar was to harness the collective wisdom and passion of young activists to co-create principles that will guide youth engagement in South African climate policy.
This initiative builds upon the Youth Climate Champions Position Paper titled "Exploring Meaningful Youth Engagement in South African climate policy,". These principles will not only shape policy but also inspire and empower more young people to get involved in climate action.
