For anyone wondering, here is the backstory and meaning of this show. This show is the conclusion to a trilogy, which began in 2005 with Ascension. Ascension is about dying and moving into the afterlife with emphasis on the spiritual and mystical aspects of death. 2006 is The Remaining, a show about souls who are stuck on earth after death, leaning into horror, the fear of dying too soon, and being stuck between life and death. 2007 is Transcendents. This show concludes the ART Trilogy (Ascension, Remaining, Transcendents) and follows a young girl from being stuck on earth, but finally finding peace when she is able to move into the afterlife. The yellow figures are loosely based on the monster from Pan’s Labyrinth, who finally consumes her. She dies and meets her spiritual guide, the tall figure in white, and skips through the clouds, finally having transcended to heaven.

Despite the age this show still holds up strong to todays great shows. They truly were ahead of their time with this show. One of my all time favorites in BOA history.

Entirely different band directors. The work that goes into the planning, music arrangements, legalities for music used, then getting the kids taught and practiced is extraordinary. I know I couldn't do it. I graduated in 1980, close to the end of Mr. Winslow's time as band director. It was nice to have such a good example to build such strong, good traditions. Lots of good memories.

it'll take quite a while for bell to return to its high glory. 2020 was supposed to be the year where bell returns to what it was before, but you can tell what happened there. i'm hoping the current directors will make the future of the program great once again. this year was just to test the waters and stability of the program post-covid, and clearly being a 3-year high school with 2 classes of kids who have never marched before, it has shown to be picking up some speed again.

@@LangBuildsMc I’m really hoping the newfound dedication in a lot of the marchers will help us return to glory. It won’t happen fully for a while, but right now, it’s the formation of the building blocks.

This is quite possibly the best show in BOA history. These type shows are skeletal to their philosophy. Personally, I prefer the more visual heavy and robust sounds of Spring 1993 & Lassiter 2002! All 3 of these shows are G.O.A.T.S. in their own right.

broken arrow 2021 has definitely taken the spot of greatest show in boa history now: with a score of an 98.25, shattering hebron 15's semifinals score.
@johnnychikko38003 жыл бұрын
@@LangBuildsMc BA 2021 definitely can make an argument for that claim. I personally felt Carmel was stronger and has a lot more difficult show visually but Hebron 2021 would have taken BA at GN’s should they have gone imo!
@brrrrrtenjoyer2 жыл бұрын
@@johnnychikko3800 I always thought Ronald Reagan's 2019 show and Flower Mound 2016 were the greatest shows with Hebron 2021. Flower Mound was so creative and they would have changed marching band forever had they went. And Reagan..I don't even think I need to explain. Highest super Regionals score and the in my opinion, has the greatest moment in marching history with the big hit at the end of the ballad with the color guard running on the outside of the football field. Definitely would have won GN for sure and probably would have beaten Hebron's 2015 score.

@@JrJesus805 yeah I have since learned this show was a three part series, and this was the third one. I don't think it was specifically about Pan's Labyrinth (I've seen parts of it so I know what it's about) but since the story was similar they decided to play homage. LD Bell's band is fantastic but sometimes I think they go a little overboard with their overly deep show themes. They always get so philosophical with their shows lol
