since the horn can be rotated when set on its side LD should make special brackets for the 12s that allow you to stack them up on top of each other since the sides are flat and you can stack them like line arrays

How do they compare to the ELECTROVOICE ZLX? Which one has better sound quality?

This is quite difficult to judge objectively - for us in particular ;) We suggest that you listen to both systems in comparison. Pay attention to different volumes and the interaction (crossover frequency) with the system basses (if a bass extension is in question for you).

I actually have four of the LD icoa 12 and I also own several of their ZLX 12 P units. After using these for several months at different events, I prefer the LD simply because of the coaxial speaker set up. He has a much tighter pattern where I can deploy two of these side-by-side and splay properly so they play nice with each other when side-by-side as a front of house speaker. The ZLX are good performers but the outer casing scratches very easily and I’ve already had a few issues with the built an amplifier which two of the six speakers have failed. LD is a little heavier in weight, but I feel is built with better quality components and a much better representation of the natural sounds you are trying to accomplish.

@@abrahamreviews honestly depends on the room or if outdoors. Indoors you could get away up to 200 people or so, should be able to produce some good db levels, make sure to get above everyone heads of course, outdoor you would need a larger system for anything over 200people.

Hi, the ICOA series is only two years old. The update frequency for PA speakers is usually between 5 and 10 years cycles. So, no, no upgrade planned in the coming months. Hope this helps! Your LD Team

Hi, ICOA speakers do not feature a built in reverb. We recommend our LD Systems FX 300 effects pedal if you wish to add reverb to vocals or instruments.

Hi Luke, these speakers are not equipped with battery. If you are looking for battery powered speakers please check out the LD Systems MAUI 5 GO or MAUI 5 GO 100, or the LD Systems ROAD series on our website. Of course you can also buy mobile power batteries and use them with the ICOA series. There are more and more solutions on the market for mobile power distribution.
