Le Beau vs Terre D'Hermes - Girls Opinions

This time the Le Beau from Jean Paul Gaultier was the clear winner!
This was as we predicted an easy match for the sweet and playful Le Beau fragrance. Most of the people we talked with preferred the sweet scent rather than the more old-fashion type of vetiver smell that Terre D'Hermes projects.

Hermes isn’t a smell that will present its potential on a piece of testing paper, it is very unique and takes time to sit on the skin and someones character. Unlike paul which smells nice and is suppose to be likeable, so almost everyone can wear it..

Terre D'Hermes smells good to be sprayed in a hotel room not for wearing, it's a more neutral cool and dark scent nothing exciting. Le Beau is a nice sexy inviting cocktail.

As a man looking to potentially purchase the Hermes fragrance, it's confusing to see these girls choosing the opposition based on it being "more feminine". Surely this is the opposite desired effect a man is looking for in a fragrance...or are they judging it based on the fact that they'd enjoy wearing it themselves? We've got it all wrong guys 🤣

Here’s my take. Scent for scent comparing on a tester strip is almost pointless for many more unique scents. Scents are like an accessory when worn if an attractive man was to walk by a woman and he’s wearing terre d Hermes there’s a strong chance that the scent would be intoxicating. The scent is masculine and assertive and worn by the right man a woman would no doubt be impressed. The other scent is mass appealing and basic hence presents itself well on a test strip due to its presumably linear scent profile. Not that I’ve smelt it, nor care to. Terre d Hermes is an interesting scent which grows on you and leaves you wanting more. It’s not overpowering and will make you stand out in a world full of Dior savauge.

This was a test doomed to fail from the get go. Hermes is meant to be worn by a man. The dry down presents a much different scent structure then the one you get from a piece of bleached paper. Also, these girls were immature. Plus, the other fragrance is inherently sweeter, which is more pronounced after having it just sprayed on the paper. I'm disappointed. I own Terre d'Hermes. It is phenomenal.
