Where did you learn that the Marketplace limits the amount of goods in the solo game? I can't find it anywhere in the rule book.

John Rice that's because it's not in the rulebook :) Uwe added it later after finding the market was overpowered in the solo game. www.boardgamegeek.com/article/3416921#3416921
