«Le macerie per me non esistono» - Anselm Kiefer. Angeli caduti

«Le macerie per me non esistono. In ogni materiale, in ciò che viene definito maceria, io vedo lo spirito e l’artista fa sì che questo si manifesti». Con queste parole Anselm Kiefer parla del suo rapporto con il concetto di maceria. «Questi temi sono sempre attuali: dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale abbiamo pensato di fare qualcosa perchè tutto ciò non si ripetesse, ma continua a succedere. Non è cambiato un granchè».

"Rubble does not exist for me. In every material, in what is called rubble, I see the spirit and the artist makes something that the spirit comes out". With these words Anselm Kiefer talks about his relationship with the concept of rubble. "These themes are always topical: after the Second World War we thought to do something so that this would not happen anymore, but it happens all the time. Not so much changed".
