I wonder what the relationship between Le Mans 24's development and Scud Race was. The car models are every bit as detailed as their counterparts in Scud Race but they lack the spherical environment map textures that give the player's vehicle that reflective quality in Scud. It's a relatively simple and computationally inexpensive trick that delivers a lot of bang for the buck. Shame that they didn't use it here.

Only minor complaint, "Mobilier de Sega" has replaced the Mobilier de France shop in the second part of the Mulsanne straight. I guess this world class furniture store was asking too much money for licencing.

This looks too low budget for a Sega Model 3 game if you ask me. Also gotta give you kudos for finishing 1st on the 24 Hours Endurance Race with the normal length. Shame you couldn't do it without a continue though.

I did play this in the arcade a lot after they took away Daytona USA and sega rally from there. Looks accurate as far as I can remember. Usually, I went to the other arcade. That one had Daytona USA 2 power edition and scud racer before that. Also sega rally 2, but I always preferred the first sega rally. Laser quest hall used to have Daytona USA 1. I miss arcades.

It is, but it'll take a lot of practice. There is video evidence of a 1cc happening, too. Not on the longest setting (starting 30th rather than 40th), and not even my video, but I think it's worth a look. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoHYZ5mPn62aj9k EDIT: As I've learned from other comments, it's only possible on real hardware. Supermodel (the emulator being used) has a glitch where backmarkers won't spawn, and you can't get enough time bonuses. The video I linked is on real hardware, though.

It was with Cheat Engine. I don't know if there is a regular way to select the bike.

On actual hardware yes, the emulated version had a glitch where the COM backmarkers wouldn't spawn, so you couldn't get enough time bonuses to 1CC the race. The glitch might have fixed by now though.

I'm using the emulator Supermodel. I would suggest checking a tutorial for more information, because I can't easily post all the information about it here.

It's actually standard for an emulator to run games at 60fps, assuming the game itself originally ran at that frame rate. For example, there are many games that would run at 30fps on a PS2 emulator because that's how they ran on the real thing, but there are other PS2 games that run at 60fps. I don't think there are any 30fps Sega Model 3 games.

Nick, some of the races had 3 laps, but why don't you set to 5 laps and more? I think Mark should play Le Mans 24 in only one race course such as Easy Difficultly. (Nissan GT-R LM, Ferrari F40, etc.) Nick, do you think that Mark could play Le Mans 24?

3 laps is just the standard amount, and I didn't feel like changing it. I don't think Mark will be playing this game unless I could get multiplayer working, which hasn't been an option so far.

As far as I know, it doesn't do that much to the car for the tire to be out and isn't worth fixing because of how much time you would lose by returning to the pit.
