Apple is one of those characters who makes no sense at all and just seems completely nuts... and then she makes perfect sense. Of course she can't move on. Her programming means she NEEDS a companion. She can't function without one. And she's a robot so she doesn't understand human death. She loves children's games because she was probably designed as a companion for the lonely children of rich parents. She can even fight because she was supposed to be loyal and protect her friend. It all makes perfect sense. Some serious worldbuilding went into this movie. I love it.

Apple was the best idea that the movie had really. It gets darker when you consider that the apocalypse happened because of the robots rebelling. There is a bit of hinting that apple killed her previous companion in the main turbo kid movie. Also notice that that Apple has found and outlived another companion in the main movie as that one has his legs still and this one doesn't.

I guess I'm open to a "Turbo Kid 2", but it's hard to make a sequel to ANYTHING... Especially something as heartwarming as "Turbo Kid" is. I just really hope they don't screw the pooch. Usually I'm all about sequels, but "Turbo Kid" was easily the best film I've seen in over 10 years.

I'm all for the sequel, going to be a tough job following it up though. I'm sure they get a slightly bigger budget and actors will be slightly older. I wonder if they bring Apple back, seen as she's a robot that's a route they could go but I rather they left Apple behind as she did have a good ending, which gave the film it's heart amid it's bloodshed but it wouldn't surprise me if they did as she was the standout character in the first film. Like to see Turbo Kid go on other adventures bring in more characters, a bit like Max does in MAD MAX films. For the sequel I like them to expand it, give it a bigger feel. Make it more epic. Looking forward to see what they do with it.

Apple's look of horror, pointing in shock, and glancing around for someone when her nameless friend collapses says it all, really. She's perfectly aware that something awful has happened, but her programming doesn't allow her to act on the knowledge that her friend is dead. Before the apocalypse, when she was with a child, she probably would've tried to find an adult to help. Now all she can do is keep taking care of him. But it's obvious she understands he's dead, because once she meets the Kid, she abandons the corpse.
