My favourite left back for chelsea and extremely underrated. I think he could have developed more abroad but times were what they were

Agreed. Class player and would have started for most clubs in Europe in his pomp.

Brilliant LB! One of my favourite defenders of the 90s and I'm a LFC fan.

Great wing-back. Disgraceful by Sven to shove him into the international wilderness, especially as his was the position we were crying out for at the time.

Good player Le Saux. Typical neanderthal fans claiming he was gay simply because he wasn't a thicko.

His autobiography is on point. An under-rated left back, and clever man.

Deserved International player. Quick, tenacious and very technical.

Just been listening to a podcast with Le Saux he should be given some sort of role in the game with his intelligence
@mm91ie11 жыл бұрын
arguably eriksons strangest decision never once picking him despite le saux being the best leftback in England from 2000 till 03, le saux would have being ideal to play in left midfield with a young Ashley cole behind him. cole struggled in his early years with England and le saux would have being a great help to him, erikson even called up chris powell a player certainly not international quality.

Didn't we have Stewart Peace ahead of Le Saux?

Love how pros can't recreate THAT moment when they score a worldie. Shows that, at the time, natural ability takes over.

Yeah, I used to like them. It was great when each ground had its own unique style of netting and individuality rather than these bland ubiquitous things nowadays. I used to love those goals which would hit the stanchion and bounce back out!

Gotta disagree the game is safer injury-wise now for clear rules against those kinds of challenges. I don’t think they added enough to it to justify the risk.
