I visited Las Vegas 565 times since 1965 . I retired here in 2021. I am just on a long vacation being retired. Now that I live here I dont gamble here. I used to come to Vegas every weekend for decades as I ran a bus tour business bringing gamblers to Vegas from California every weekend. I still like the old school 3 reel slots. They are getting harder to find.

I used to work on Fremont (Banger Brewing) and often ate at Le Thai. I usually had their Short Rib fried rice with their Pork jerky appetizer. Oh so good!

If you are ever in Malaysia, you must visit Penang. There are tons of great delicious food on Penang Island. Malay, Chinese, Indian, Eurasian and Peranakan are everywhere and the street food is absolutely a must eat.

As I've read it, steakhouses and fancy restaurants have the lights low because they try to make you feel more comfortable and "calmer" while you eat there. Hoping that the cozy atmosphere will make you spend more money as well. The lower lights help this along with the ambiance of the place (waterfalls or fountains etc.). They probably also lower the lights for other reasons, but that is the main one I found after a search about that topic awhile back.

Danny, curry is fun to make at home. easy to make. if you make a pot of chicken curry, you can eat for several days. Very economical and tastes great. With very little practice you can make delicious curry for pennies on the dollar. I would LOVE to see a video of Danny making home made curry. Please Danny

I ate at Le Thai several times my last trip to Vegas when I was staying downtown. Really good food, and pretty inexpensive compared to eating in most casino restaurants.

As a former steakhouse chef The reason for why it’s dark is because it gives the customers a sense of privacy So they say but here is the truth Back in the day it was a place to take your mistress As you didn’t want to be seen

Googled "can't see Jack". Here it is. In England, somewhere around the 13th to 14th century a Jack was a common term for an everyday ordinary person of peasant status, coming from the old English “Jacques.” Interestingly, this was also a name used for the common peasant in France, the clue here being that a major French uprising by the peasantry in the hundred years war was called the “Jacquerie.” This use of the term “Jack” continued all the way up to the 17th and 18th century, where common terms like “man-jack” “jack-the-lad” commonly appear as descriptions of regular people, not people of status. I have HALF your answer to DARK restaurants. In NYC all those very dark restaurants are not dark for 'ambiance" and to set a mood. They are dark a little bit to save on electricity but the main reason they are very dark is to prevent you from seeing Rats or mice scurrying by lol.
