Lea Michele killed us with this performance of "Touch Me" at Upright Cabaret on August 16th, 2008. Performance directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, musical direction by Ben Toth.

"Touch Me" is my favorite Spring Awakening song. I never even saw S.A. on Broadway...only on youtube--but I am so envious of those who were able to see it live. I agree with Ryan Murphy who says Lea Michele is a "once a generation" type of talent. She is stunning in every way. And golly, what a voice!!!

It's in D minor. if you want to play it on guitar with a capo, put it on the 3rd fret and play, Bm G A Em. but if you don't want a capo, it's Dm Bb C Gm for the verses

I feel like when she sings on Glee, all of the emotion in her voice is stripped by all of the autotune when she sings. With the exception of "My Man", of course. When she sings live, you can really hear the raw emotion in her voice. I love her.

those lyrics are how it is sung on the album and off-broadway, but when they performed it on Broadway the lyrics are sung as she sings them here "only drifting on some ship", or at least they were when Lea and Jon were performing in 07, a few of the lyrics and songs changed from off-broadway to on.

how does this only have 136,165 hits? It's so sad the people that just know Lea for Glee. I had the privlage of seeing Spring Awakening 15 times and she is just one of the most talented young women i've ever seen. I hope that those Glee fans will go and try to track down more of Lea exactly like this because god Lea.... you are way more talented than that show will ever be able to portray... LOVE YOU LEA!!!
