I was fortunate enough to have been production staff at one of her concerts back in 2008. It was called Lea: My Life on Stage. I was able to sit right across from her, a few feet away, while she practices some lines of song. It was magical. Really hypnotic how crystal clear and angelic her voice was especially live without a mic. I swear I heard small bells tinkling hahahaha. Enjoyed this video! Really appreciate you guys reacting to Lea Salonga. 🥰

One of those many performances of Lea that I always listen to and its lovely to hear such reviews. It’s very refreshing to listen to a review not just focusing on the voice, the technique but the mapping of the character and dissecting her emotions. This is brilliant. Truly enjoy all your reactions...especially when it is Lea Salonga's performances. Usually, I do watch not just once but I do re-watch it again to really dig into the context. She's just phenomenal in every song she interprets, like in this song about "Still Hurting". So love the emotions she portrays in this particular character. Awesome!!! Love your Lea reactions. I keep going back and rewatching them. Lea can be in rehearsal with just a piano (like here) or performing on a Broadway with an orchestra of maybe 20, or in concert with a small band of 4 people, or with a symphony orchestra of maybe 50 or 60: Lea is always going to sound amazing and really tell a story with each song. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but one of the reasons I so enjoy your reactions is that you focus almost as much on the emotional performance as on the vocal technique.

I believe when her music director said, "Nice!" @4:16 was probably because of her phrasing. She sang, "What about you? *dramatic pause* JAMIE?" Her choice of not shouting or yelling Jamie when she pauses in this accusatory phrase, "What about you?" is such an impactful moment and lends this phrase even more layers to her story-telling. I think either her director notices this and thought it was nice or they may have worked on this phrase before and he is hearing it in the entirety of this song and thought that it was nice. heh my 2 cents :p
