I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to live in a time where channel like this exists. People don’t understand the scarcity of this shit even 20 years ago. You might see a 20 second interview with a creater on tv once in a blue moon, or happen upon a new piece of work by an artist by sheer chance. Now we get this kind of in depth insight into a piece of work, or hour long interviews with genius creators like Darrow. Love what you guys do

When I look at most artists' work I get a feeling like "yeah... with enough work I think I can achieve that". Not when I see Geof Darrow's work.

14:20 was done as a cover for a mid 90s RPG...Ray Winninger's Underground. The tagline on the cover says "Its 2021 and the dream is dead" lol

Truly in a league of his own. We should all aim for such a high mark. We probably won't hit it but we will at least have improved ourselves in some way just by making the attempt.

Listening to interviews of Kim Jung Gi, it seems like had a lot of the same traits and drawing theory as Geof Darrow. Although stylistically their art is different, similar results are achieved-detailed murals vs hyper detailed comic pages, very imaginative art, drawings of anything at any POV, tons of people in an art piece, clean lines, etc.

21:12 - That's a cover for the promotional Fallout New Vegas comic. Funny how hey hired him for that, since one of the most iconic guns from this game series was based on the cover of Hard Boiled #1

That "chicken fat" spread does ring some Goodman Beaver bells; I'm thinking of the big city scene in the Superman parody. Some unique pleasure response seems to happen in our brains when we're forced to slow down and linger over an intricate piece by guys like Darrow, Elder, Wood or Adams. It's almost like hypnosis.
