Eric, I'm not affiliated with your marketing team, but... since I started your Truefire class I've really started to see the instrument in a different way. Chords first and then find the scales, modes, licks and tricks around those shapes. Really helped tie all the positions together and really in a very simple way. Still working through the material but very cool approach. Thanks friend! Gus

Agreed! Before the course dropped I had gotten into this way of looking at the fretboard from Eric’s and a couple other tubers that share that philosophy. The biggest thing for me was associating the chords with pentatonics. So the course was great timing as it just solidified the journey I was on 🤘

Yeah! It’s so much easier to remember everything if we go chords first!

@@EricHaugenGuitar Have you done a thing on 10th's as yet? I use them constantly as musical shorthand to un-clutter the midrange in a band or ensemble setting. 10th's are an excellent visual and ear training tool as well that simplifies things in a hurry. You can always add more chord/scale tones to them, so great for chord spelling as well.

The slide from the minor 3rd to a major 3rd then the octave in A is killer 👍

Dude, good stuff! A bunch to unpack, but that 6th to flat 3rd move is an easy takeaway from this lesson that I want to put in my kit. Tasty, tasty. My first experience recognizing that Blues players mix minor and major pentatonic was when I transcribed Bonnie Raitt's cover of "Love Me Like a Man". I knew it was done, but working on that transcription brought it home.
