This song always makes me cry from the depths of my soul, 😭😭remembering a band director when I was in high school in Florida. I was a growing musician and had suffered a lot of trauma from my early years. He helped lead me through to channel it into my music and always supported me in my musical endeavors. I’m still a musician today thanks to his guidance. Everyone in the band/orchestra called him „Papa“, because he was like a father to so many of us. He passed away several years ago, but the wonderful memories live on. Thanks Papa, for nurturing my music career. I love you & will never forget. 💕🎼🎶🎵😘🌹

I lost my Dad about 2 weeks ago and I miss him so much. I concluded his eulogy with the lyrics from this song: The leader of the band is tired And his eyes are growing old But his blood runs through My instrument And his song is in my soul -- My life has been a poor attempt To imitate the man I'm just a living legacy To the leader of the band. RIP Pops. Love You. Thanks for doing this video.

I'll be where you are soon and so this song made me cry too. My dad is in his 80s and I haven't seen my family in a long time. I hate to think that soon he'll be gone. God be with you.

Can't stop playing this , such a great time . Hey Joanne if it's ok can I mention a couple of songs which would be great to learn the chords for . The first one is " I wish I were Blind " by Bruce Springsteen, the other would be "Maybe " by Tom pate, theme to grisly Adams, showing my age now eh ! Anyway just a thought 😁🎸cheers
