@@001choctaw no. He gave them weapons after he broke them and they conceded, but as seen in Halo Wars he has no respect for anyone should they impede the mission. And that most likely extends to everyone in the Covenant save the Prophets. He came from nothing and since he’s now something he doesn’t want to put up with anyone lesser than himself. He displays a lack of respect for other highish ranking elites in the HW campaign after all. This is all my speculation, but no, I think he views them as cannon fodder with guns and nothing more. He recognises their ferocity in battle under a cause they deem worthy but also recognises that they have no real fire to see the mission through when forced to fight for something they don’t actually care about.

MisterXenomorph yeah, like, they breed very fast, learn quickly (even if they can only learn one skillset) and can handle all weapons available to the Covenant and Ex-Covenant (aside from swords/hammers). They also can pilot war machines and other vehicles so there is virtually no role a grunt cant fill. Their main flaws are cowardice, lack of motivation and lazyness which all can be countered by a popular leader and some kind of “bigger goal” that appeals to all unggoy.

I imagine the Shadows don't look much like shadows because they've been made in the Banished artstyle and then on-top of that, heavily modified. I hope we see them again in Halo 6 though, it was great seeing the Phantom and Spirit working together in Halo 5.

i've foud a good tactic with yap yap is spam cannon fodder with the occasional brute chopper at the beggining, building only the council building, leaving the rest of the bases spots for power and supply. once the supply's are high enough, demolish one supply and replace it with a raid camp, then spam mostly heavy grunts, as a large group of heavies can take down most of the smaller flying units, and also build the grunt goblins and give them grunt hustle, acting as the medic of the group and for the love of fuck, keep the grunt mechs together, they kill things quicker and can heal each other with the grunt hustle. now that you are spamming mostly grunt heavies, you can still build a few cannon fodder units, as cannon fodder tend to get prioritized by enemy fire first for running up and hitting them. the cannon fodder will absorb the damage while the heavies and mechs focus fire. even if you CAN, dont fall for the "scarab is ultimate, it must be good" its not, i've had two to three scarabs on the feild and enemy units can still take your scarabs down, but most importantly, they can just run past and attack important things (if playing firefight). a constant counter i've found is a swarm of small air units can take down your scarabs, UNSC its those annoying mongoose with wings. banished, the banshee, flood, the flying tits. but if you have an army of grunt heavies? they have to spread their fire and still get taken down just as quickly
