The Leaderonomics Show - Datuk Dr Mazlan Othman, 1st Malaysian Astrophysicist

In 100 years from now, people can dream about visiting space - holidays on the moon, possibly holidays on Mars. If that sounds absurd then it shouldn’t.
Those are the words of Datuk Dr Mazlan Othman, who became the first woman to study physics at Otago, later becoming Malaysia’s first astrophysicist.
For a decade, she was Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs,
visited Antarctica and published numerous papers on space and environmental issues.
She understands the world in which we live in is but a small speck in the grand scheme of things.
There are billions of stars within our galaxy and billions of galaxies, and she takes that as a challenge to make the most of it.
