CBS2 Investigative reporter David Goldstein gets reactions from City Attorney Mike Feuer and Mayor Eric Garcetti after a CBS2 Investigation found workers with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority throw food meant for the homeless into dumpsters.

Homelessness is very profitable for these agencies. There is no incentive to get people help and off the streets. Salaries should be tied to whether people are actually helped off the street and provided with mental health services. Looking at how much homelessness has increased these past couple of years, they should all be working for free.

Your right there. I volunteered for a homeless charity never got paid and we bagged up and made sandwiches, biscuits , crisps etc and gave out blankets clothing and toiletries. And we just set up a big table the same place 3 times a week in the city centre as that's where the homeless are and all our stuff always got handed out we never had any waste. Even if the people wasn't homeless and I knew them to be vulnerable or drug users they still got. I am a recovered heroin addict and I think things like this always it's always helps to have someone who knows the scene or is a ex addict so the people feel.more comfortable knowing there is someone who understands and ain't judging them . These people clearly don't have a clue and don't give a shit . I hope they get sacked and a lot more

I remember reading a story from the LA Times about maybe a month ago that said the people that worked for this organization had told the city of Los Angeles that they could not survive on less than $100,000 a year every single employee. After seeing this video and watching these employees do absolutely nothing for their money it makes me even more angry than I was before. I am sick of living in a world where you reward people for nothing I have been self-employed for 30 years and nobody has ever given me anything I had to work for everything I didn’t have somebody just give me $100,000 salary for walking around the park.Recently they found out that homeless apartments in Los Angeles cost over $1 million apiece $1 million seriously how many of us actually live in a house or apartment that’s worth that much money I’m pissed off thank God I don’t live in the city of Los Angeles thank you Jesus

The very agencies designed to help the homeless employ people who do not like them. I was homeless for 4 years. They not only throw food away but they take what they want first. Goodwill throws away donations that are not profitable for their stores. They will arrest any homeless person who tries to take clothes from the garbage. They are suppose to donate them. I stayed in a shelter for 6 months because I had knee surgery. If you comply with all their rules they will assist you into housing. No one ever gets help. They leave the shelter and return to the streets. They told me they had no money to give. I seen things I can never unsee and I hate society because of how truly evil they are to those who have lost everything.

Stop demanding government handouts! Work! I'm 18 and worked my way up to Starbucks manager making $19.15 in N. Dakota, but some gets deducted because of Social Security which is unfair, and I'm hoping to one day buy Starbucks and pay a minimum wage of $25 to all of the baristas because I was one too. Program is funded by its usage; The dumpsters will use a lot of food to fill them up. We need more funding were running out of food.
