The 2 Enemies of Leadership
Leaders are mothers, fathers, businessman, schoolteachers, real estate investors, workers in the marketplace, we are everywhere and anything we do
involves making leadership decisions.
Leadership has 2 enemies - Pride and Fear. But as Leaders we flat overcome and conquer these 2 weaknesses with God’s Word.
Pride-Used to think-Devil attacks your weaknesses - But also will attack you at your point of strength! (Least aware-Most vulnerable)
1 Chronicles 21 - David Counts the Fighting Men
1 Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.
8 Then David said to God, “I have sinned greatly by doing this. Now, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.”
Satan attacks us when we are proud. It is so easy to see in other people but not yourself.
2 Chronicles 26:16 - Uzziah the war hero
But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall.
We have to be careful about EGO - Edging God Out vs Exalting God Only.
Proverbs 16:18
First pride, then the crash-the bigger the ego, the harder the fall.
EGO - Edging God Out vs Exalting God Only. - Humility is the Key.
1 Peter 5: 5
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Fear is being afraid of the unknown. Leadership steps forward
Moses, safety of being a shepherd (Exodus 3 & 4), Ten Scouts didn’t trust God (Numbers 13 &14), Jonah ran away (Jonah 1 & 2) Rich Young ruler afraid to give up his life (Luke 18:18-23) Young John Mark abandoned Paul (Acts 13:13, 15:36-38)
Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man (anxiety about people) brings a snare, but whoever leans on, trusts in, and puts his confidence in the Lord is safe and set on high.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
LB - God gave us gifts to be used with courage, love and self-discipline.

We are led by the HS - not the call on your life, not fear, HS is love, peace.
Jesus - EGO, Exalting God only - No fear, Father (LOVE) was with Him. 1 JN 4:18
We have humility and courage. The Leadership balance, it is a combination - Jesus Christ is the Lion of Judah strong powerful and invincible. Jesus Christ is also the Lamb, the servant who gave His life for the whole world.
