I haven't tried leaf printing with paints, I use leaves to print a water based resist on silk, then dye over the resist with silk dyes, then dye the background, as you can see. PS I took your ice dyeing class a few years ago.

@@LyndaHeines There are so many ways to do leaf prints. I taught a class for the Nature Printing Society and they were thrilled to have a class on printing on silk. Most of their classes were printing on paper - leaves, fish and other natural items. I mostly use resists and dyes because I sell scarves, and don't want the feel of paint on the silk, while the resist completely rinses out. I have used paints on black ties. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you very much for this! I would like to try this on a t-shirt. Perhaps ironing over the images (with a press cloth, of course) would make them more permanent and colorfast.

Mary, However you use this technique you need to heat set the paint so it is permanent. Yes, It would work on a t-shirt for sure. Have fun!
