The Calgary Flames are in a vulnerable position. With a rebuild on the horizon, we've already seen certain players have a lack of commitment to the organization and their plans for the future. Other NHL teams may strike at acquiring not only players, but members of the coaching staff as well. The Toronto Maple Leafs recently hired Craig Berube as their new Head Coach and rumour has it that Marc Savard may find his way to Toronto to re-acquaint with his former coach. Mark Griffith breaks it down.

Honestly if Sevard wants to go to Toronto then he's emotionally checked out of the flames. Let the man walk and hire someone that can get us in the top 10-15 power play.

It took 5 months before Savard's power play actually started clicking. You could say it was one of the main reasons they missed the playoffs. They can have him.

In all honesty I would think that Savard will still stay with the team in respects to carry on what he has put together with the flames as of late. . Keep in mind it was definitely getting better and it's fair to say that we can't blame the fact that 7 to 8 key players either didn't want anything to do in resigning or staying with this team. This clearly made a significant impact on how well things would or should have played out in our special teams department. I believe it would not be fair to throw all of that negatively squarely on Savard's shoulders. As you stated in this video once some of the acquisitions that were brought in were inserted in the lineup in key situations I think coach Huska was able to analyze and see who was working well with certain players and continue to build off of what was unfolding in front of him. Hopefully throughout this summer and the draft to the start of the next hockey season we will definitely have a better idea what this club will look like and the route Conroy has taken. I think by that time this club will have a better understanding on where the special teams aspects will be heading and how well it can or will be.

I know Craig Berube. With all due respect to him, he's not an NHL HC at all for me. I guess we'll find out. Cara, if you are reading this, I'm sorry! 😄 When I refer to Andrew Mangiapane, he would punch me likely but I say... Andy Eat-Your-Bread 😂😂 Edit: I'm a moron, check comments for evidence 😆

@@DavonteNK yeah no worries, bruv. I believe his skills arw best used to develop junior players. That's all. I believe he's proved he's one of the best in the world in that role.

Can't they just refuse to give permission to the Leafs to speak to Savard. Montreal just went through something similar with Columbus and they just refused to give Columbus permission. Or is Savard no longer under contract.

They can 100% have him. He was a good junior coach but was terrible with the flames last year. Bring someone in that can make the PP happen with what players he has to use. Savards style is meant for players with elite scoring talent, and flames dont have that and wont anytime soon. Continue with the rebuild.

So let me get this straight Mark Savard leaves through his own choice, and it would be the leafs fault sounds pretty typical of Americans but Calgary sounds like you need to get your head out of your behind
