Excellent explanation. l have been trying to find out whether Kennebec is determinate or Indeterminate. This answered my question. Thanks very much. lts very hard to find out what a potato is. Sometimes growing periods don't provide a correct solution. Would be good if there were a database for these. l need to work out Red Otway and Andean Sunrise. l might just have to grow them to find out. 🤔

Thank you so much for explaining determinates vs indeterminates - your diagrams helped me understand it and your explanation was super clear and helpful :) I'm not sure if my understanding is correct, but as I understand it, if your NPK fertilizer is 5-10-5, it's high * phosphorus * (P) rather than high potassium (K) right? because phosphorus is good for root growth (whereas potassium is good for over-ground fruit-growth I think).

There is really not much consistency for which potatoes are determinate/indeterminate. Kennebecs are generally considered indeterminate. They have a very long growing season.
